Elrond Network and BetProtocol have joined forces to create an automated audit record for their online gaming operators. By utilizing the Elrond blockchain, BetProtocol aims to achieve an on-chain decentralized backup of relevant betting and transaction history, which will decrease costs with high-availability backups and reduce the duration of business interruptions during audits and compliance checking.

According to an announcement on June 2, the upcoming Elrond incentivized stress test will include a variety of different attacks on the network. Elrond CEO Beniamin Mincu explained to Cointelegraph:

"Anything that takes the network down is allowed, as long as it's not breaking the law or social privacy of participants. So DDoS-ing, hijacking rewards, stealing coins, double spending, minting new coins & other similar situations - we will reward every successful attempt to do any of those things.”

📊 FCAS Rating: Elrond ranks in Top 15 for Development and 50 Overall

Elrond was recently reviewed by analysis firm FlipSide Crypto, which assigned us a rating of 736 overall, which places us in the Top 50 projects out of the +500 projects that got an FCAS rating. Our Developer Behavior rating is an outstanding 911, which places us in the Top 15.

💪 These excellent results are even more impressive for a project that is still before the mainnet stage and therefore can’t score in certain relevant areas.

FlipSide Crypto makes comprehensive analysis for blockchain projects and assigns a Fundamental Crypto Asset Score (FCAS) rating. This rating indicates project health based on User Activity, Developer Behavior and Market Maturity.

Only 2 days after the initial announcement, the dry-run for Battle of Nodes: Unchained already lined up 868 community nodes from 190 unique participants, with more arriving every hour. With our own Nodes in the mix, our testnet is now over 1.000 nodes, which is an amazing achievement for any blockchain, more so a testnet.

Ankr to provide 1-Click deployment nodes for selected Battle of Nodes participants

Elrond and Ankr have entered into an agreement which enables Elrond Nodes to be easily deployed and hosted on the blockchain cloud infrastructure provider’s platform. The collaboration aims to synchronize the capabilities of the Ankr platform with the specific needs of operating Elrond infrastructure.

The $60k Battle of Nodes: Onchained challenge draws +1700 nodes & attention

Beniamin sat down with Coindesk to discuss the implications of running an incentivized testnet with the explicit purpose of breaking it. The significant prize pool & open security challenge have already drawn more than 1700 nodes to our network, with more coming each day.

“When we have 15 days without interruption of the network despite this kind of attacks and stress testing, at that point we know Elrond is finally prepared and good – robust enough to go live,” Beniamin Mincu told CoinDesk.

Elrond’s 15-day clock resets when the “interrupters” manage to take the network down. Nobody has yet: Elrond’s protocol has foiled three attacks so far. Underminers have nevertheless uncovered plenty of lower-level bugs worth fixing, and that’s enough to keep nodes in contention for a slice of the $60,000 plunder, paid out in the $ERD token.

Elrond and ARPA have entered into a partnership that will achieve interoperability between the two blockchains, giving applications which use the Elrond blockchain in their technology stack access to secure multi-party computations on ARPA.

Learning 1: High TPS is not flood

Our anti-flood mechanism was configured too tightly and flagged valid consensus messages as spam due to the high TPS environment in a geographically dispersed setting. As a result, we raised the peerMaxMessagesPerSec to 5 in order to avoid the consensus topic being blocked by the topic flood preventer component.

Learning 2: Redundant setups can do more harm than good

A node operator deployed two nodes with the same key and triggered a specific double-signing scenario that caused a fork. We have addressed this by improving our ForkDetector component.

As we are deploying the first truly sharded architecture proof of stake architecture, we are the first ever to face certain specific problems, and thus the first to solve them. 💥 Battle of Nodes: Onchained - 35 MILLION TXs in 24 hours!

Our ongoing incentivized testnet event just processed 35 million transactions in 24 hours. That's an average of ~400 TPS, with a 7322 TPS peak. This is an exciting result that speaks to the resilience of our network, even as we faced an event which made newly started nodes not be able to connect - ✅ solved in the meantime.

The transactions are sent by our noscripts, which generate addresses and send test ERD between them, resulting in a healthy mix of intra-shard and cross-shard transactions. We are doing this to test the capabilities of our participants to operate in a moderate TPS environment.

Those nodes who don't will be purged from the event starting Monday, so Battle of Nodes continues in earnest with eligible nodes only.
