Islamic Ethics in Tech #35 — Ramadan Limited Series: Muhasabah (Self-Accountability)

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The wise person is the one who brings himself to account and works for what comes after death.” (Tirmidhi)

Ramadan gives us something rare: space to see ourselves clearly.

How we spend our time.
What we reach for when we’re tired.
What distracts us when no one is watching.

In the digital world, time disappears quietly.
Scrolling feels harmless.
Busyness feels productive.

Muhasabah interrupts that illusion.

This Ramadan, take time for silence.
Review your days.
Realign your intentions.

Because accountability that happens now saves regret later.

#9 Sahaba Stories for Modern Hearts: Amr ibn al-Aas (RA) - The Late Victory

Many think it's too late to change after years of mistakes. Amr (RA) spent decades fighting Islam, yet became the Conqueror of Egypt for islam. Your timeline is different; don't compare it.
Amr was a political genius who used his mind against Islam for years. He was old when he finally came to the Prophet ﷺ to convert. He stretched out his hand but then pulled it back.
"I have a condition," he said. "That Allah forgives my past sins."
The Prophet ﷺ smiled: "Do you not know, O Amr, that Islam wipes out whatever came before it?"

He went on to liberate Egypt and spread Islam to millions.
Lessons:
🔸Your past is a resume of lessons, not a life sentence.
🔸You can restart at any age.
🔸Allah's mercy is bigger than anything

Islamic Ethics in Tech #36 — Ramadan Limited Series: Riyā’ (Showing Off)

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The thing I fear most for you is the minor shirk, which is showing off.”(Musnad Ahmad)

Riya happens when an action meant for Allah slowly becomes an action meant to be seen.

In the digital world, visibility is constant.

Good deeds become posts.
Worship becomes content.
Recognition becomes a reward.

Ramadan invites us to return to something quieter.

Fasting itself is unseen.
No one truly knows except Allah.

This reminds us that the most valuable acts may be the ones no one ever sees.
