🎥 Alexey Zhuravlev, a member of Russia's parliament, who has visited Donetsk several times since 2014, has arrived in the city again: "The school is destroyed in the central district... they're firing at whatever they can".
"Do they really think Donetsk will all of a sudden say 'Oh, not again, we surrender,' this is what they want?" he asks.
But despite the difficult conditions, life goes on, as Donetsk residents told the parliamentarian. "They're our heroes! We will prevail, that's for no doubt!", Zhuravlev says.

However, according to him, the interviewer then informed on him to Ukraine's security services because they considered his truthful account unacceptable

🔎NYS Assembly passes Alyssa's Law in effort to keep schools safe. Alyssa's Law is named in honor of Alyssa Alhadeff, who was shot and killed in the Parkland shooting in 2018. “
Schools should be a safe place for our kids to learn and grow,” Speaker Heastie said. “While we passed a comprehensive package of legislation to strengthen our state’s gun laws, installing these technologies would add a layer of security to our schools in the event of a shooting or an emergency, and give schools a direct line of communication to law enforcement.”
The law would require school district district-wide safety teams to consider, as part of their review of the comprehensive district-wide safety plan.

🚨In Tennessee, Chattanooga Police Chief Celeste Murphy says a chaotic scene left 14 people shot and 3 hit by vehicles outside a Chattanooga bar early Sunday morning. A total of three people lost their lives: Two died from gunshot wounds, and a third died after a vehicle fleeing the scene ran over them.
Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly and Chief Murphy held a press conference following the shooting this morning. Kelly asked for Congress to take action to address the issue of gun violence in the country. "Our city will put a stop to this,” said Kelly.
The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms is now helping with the investigation, according to Murphy.

🧐🌪💥💨Carbon Dioxide Levels in May broke the record for the amount of planet-warming carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in human history. CO2 levels are now 50% higher than the preindustrial average before humans began the widespread burning of fossil fuels in the late 19th century.
As the amount of carbon dioxide increases, the planet keeps warming, with effects like increased flooding, more extreme heat, drought, and worsening wildfires that are already being experienced by millions of people worldwide.
“We can see the impacts of climate change around us every day. The relentless increase of carbon dioxide measured at Mauna Loa is a stark reminder that we need to take urgent, serious steps to become a more Climate Ready Nation,” said National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrator Rick Spinrad, Ph.D.
