⚡️ Iran's Raisi: US must leave Syria, entire region ASAP

The National Iranian Oil Company and Russian energy giant Gazprom have signed a memorandum of cooperation marking the largest foreign investment in the history of the Iranian oil industry, the Tasnim news agency reported on Tuesday.

The agreement provides for the development of two gas fields in the Persian Gulf with an investment of $10 billion by Gazprom. The Russian company's participation in these projects looks to increase the production of gas by more than 100 million cubic meters per day.

In oil, Gazprom likewise reportedly pledged to cooperate in the start-up of six oil fields. The energy companies are also negotiating an additional joint project that should provide for the investment of a further $15 billion by the Russian energy giant.

💬''Russia and Iran share a total of 70 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, which represents 30% of the world's reserves," declared the director of the Iranian oil company.

The latest State of the Environment Report, which is conducted every five years, was released on Tuesday. The government-commissioned report concluded that Australia's environment is ''poor and deteriorating''.

Also, it reiterated that:
▪️ Nineteen ecosystems are on the brink of collapse
▪️ There are now more non-native plant species in Australia than native ones
▪️ Australia has lost more species to extinction than any other continent
▪️ All bar one category of the examined environments have deteriorated since 2016, and more than half are now in a "poor" state

In recent years, Australia has suffered severe drought, historic bushfires, successive years of record-breaking floods, and six mass bleaching events on the Great Barrier Reef.
