🚨 ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ Crew Member Killed at Brooklyn Film Location

A "Law & Order" contract worker was fatally shot in a car near the Brooklyn set Tuesday morning, according to the NYPD.

Johnny Pizarro, 31, was found shot in the head and neck in a car on North Henry Street near Norman Avenue in Greenpoint about 5:15 a.m., police said. Medics rushed Pizarro, of Ridgewood, to Woodhull hospital but doctors could not save his life, according to police. He didn't work directly for the show, but had been contracted to do parking enforcement.

A short, thin man in a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants was seen running from where the shooting occurred, the police said. The area is in the 94th Precinct, where serious crime is relatively rare. No murders had previously been reported in this jurisdiction in 2022.

🎞 Netflix lost nearly 1 million subscribers last quarter

Netflix warned it might lose more subscribers in the second quarter of this year than it did in the first, and that prediction has come true — though it wasn't as bad as feared. The streaming service said it lost nearly 1 million subscribers (970,000 to be exact) in Q2. That's far more than the 200,000-member decline from Q1, but not as bleak as the 2 million Netflix was prepared to part with.

The company attributed the slightly rosier outcome to "better-than-expected" subscriber growth, particularly in areas like Asia-Pacific. The company still turned a $1.44 billion net profit despite the shrinking customer base and unfavorable foreign exchange values for the US dollar.

The company is still pinning its hopes on a lower-priced ad-supported tier due in early 2023, and expects to launch it in a "handful of markets" where there's already strong ad spending.

🏛 Sen. Lindsey Graham agrees to testify before Georgia grand jury in election meddling case

An agreement between Graham and Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis was reached Tuesday afternoon. The agreement maintains Graham's right to fight the subpoena.

US Sen. Lindsey Graham has agreed to accept a subpoena to provide testimony to a Georgia grand jury that is investigating former President Donald Trump and his allies' actions after his 2020 election defeat.

The Atlanta-based grand jury is seeking evidence related to efforts by Trump and others to get Georgia officials to overturn the election won there by President Joe Biden. The Republican lawmaker, one of Trump’s closest confidants in the Senate, had asked a federal judge in South Carolina last week to quash the subpoena.
