#BREAKING | Trump reveals a large group of FBI Agents raided his Mar-a-Lago Resort residence in Florida 🇺🇸
🇺🇸🗣 US House Republicans have demanded an immediate briefing by FBI Director Christopher A. Wray concerning the raid on former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence, calling the action “unprecedented” in the history of the country.
In a letter to the FBI, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, Michael R. Turner, said that he was "unaware of any actual or alleged national security threat" posed by any information, data, or documents in the possession of Trump.

🔻 The US House Ways and Means Committee is legally able to receive information from Donald Trump’s tax returns as part of the congressional panel's probe into the former president’s finances.
The Ways and Means Committee requested information for several years of Trump’s personal and business tax returns in order to better understand the Presidential Audit Program run by the Internal Revenue Service. Trump unsuccessfully challenged the release of the returns by the Treasury Department, arguing that it violates the First Amendment of the US Constitution and the constitutional principle of separation of powers.

💾 Biden signs $280 billon act to boost US tech
President Joe Biden on Tuesday signed a $280 billion bipartisan bill to boost domestic high-tech manufacturing, part of his administration’s push to boost US competitiveness over China. The bill has been more than a year in the making, will incentivize investments in the American semiconductor industry in an effort to ease US reliance on overseas supply chains for critical, cutting-edge goods.
The White House sought Tuesday to begin selling the immediate impacts of the semiconductor measure, noting that Micron, a leading US chip manufacturer, will announce a $40 billion plan to boost domestic production of memory chips, while Qualcomm and GlobalFoundries will unveil a $4.2 billion expansion of an upstate New York chip plant.

🚨 Albuquerque police detain suspect in shootings of 4 Muslim Men
After a weekslong search that left the city’s Muslim community living in fear, Police Chief Harold Medina made the announcement on Tuesday that authorities had tracked down a vehicle believed to be involved in one of the slayings in New Mexico’s largest city.
Police initially said the same vehicle was suspected of being used in all four homicides — a dark gray or silver four-door Volkswagen that appeared to be a Jetta or Passat with dark tinted windows. Authorities released photos hoping people could help identify the car and offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
Albuquerque authorities say they cannot determine if the slayings were hate crimes until they have identified a suspect and a motive. Few anti-Muslim hate crimes have been recorded in Albuquerque over the last five years, according to FBI.

🔋 Most electric vehicles won’t qualify for federal tax credit
A tax credit of up to $7,500 could be used to defray the cost of an electric vehicle under the Inflation Reduction Act now moving toward final approval in Congress. As of now, the alliance estimates that about 50 of the 72 electric, hydrogen or plug-in hybrid models that are sold in the US wouldn’t meet the requirements.
Under the $740 billion economic package, which passed the Senate over the weekend and is nearing approval in the House. For an EV buyer to qualify for the full credit, 40% of the metals used in a vehicle’s battery must come from North America. By 2027, that required threshold would reach 80%.
One component of the bill would require that after 2024, no vehicle would be eligible for the tax credit if its battery components came from China. Most vehicles now have some parts sourced in China and is the leader in production of lithium and other minerals that are used to produce EV batteries.

🚫 ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy is over
The Department of Homeland Security announced it ended a Trump-era policy requiring asylum-seekers to wait in Mexico for hearings in US immigration court, hours after a judge lifted an order in effect since December.
About 70,000 migrants were subject to the policy, known officially as “Migrant Protection Protocols,” from when former President Donald Trump introduced it in January 2019 until President Joe Biden suspended it on his first day in office in January 2021, effectively fulfilling a campaign promise.
Trump made the policy a centerpiece of border enforcement, which critics said was inhumane for exposing migrants to extreme violence in Mexico and making access to attorneys far more difficult.

💉 Major test of first possible Lyme vaccine in 20 years begins
Researchers are seeking thousands of volunteers in the US and Europe to test the first potential vaccine against Lyme disease in hopes of better fighting the tick-borne threat. Lyme is a growing problem, with cases rising and warming weather helping ticks expand their habitat.
Pfizer and French biotech Valneva are aiming to avoid previous pitfalls in developing a new vaccine to protect both adults and kids as young as 5 from the most common Lyme strains on two continents.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cites insurance records suggesting 476,000 people are treated for Lyme in the US each year. Pfizer’s Anderson put Europe’s yearly infections at about 130,000. Untreated Lyme can cause severe arthritis and damage the heart and nervous system. Some people have lingering symptoms even after treatment.

🤔 Pelosi calls China 'one of the freest societies in the world' in apparent gaffe
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called China "one of the freest societies in the world" during an interview on NBC’s “TODAY” Tuesday morning, but the context around her comment suggests she meant to say "Taiwan."
Leading up to Pelosi’s trip, President Joe Biden warned that military officials believed Pelosi’s trip was "not a good idea." However, the White House later walked those comments back, saying the president "respects" Pelosi’s visit and believes it aligns with American foreign policy going back decades.
Soon after Pelosi's gaffe, Drew Hammill, her deputy chief of staff, took to Twitter to clear the air and present her original stance.

📉 Elon Musk sold $6.9 billion in Tesla stock last week, and shares had their worst week in more than a year
Billionaire Elon Musk sold nearly $2 billion in Tesla Inc. stock on Thursday and Friday for $6.9 billion total on the week, which happened to be the worst for Tesla stock in more than a year.
The world’s richest man asked his Twitter followers last week if he should sell 10% of his 170 million-plus shares, and the answer was yes. After selling about 6.3 million shares this week, Musk would still not be halfway to that goal, and would only be less than a third of the way there if he does not count his Monday sales, which were from options he exercised and made by a predetermined plan in order to pay the taxes on those options.
Tesla stock had its worst week since the markets swooned at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.

⚡️ Trump-backed businessman Tim Michels is the projected winner in battleground Wisconsin's GOP gubernatorial primary
👍20👎2❤1
❓ Who are the big winners of Tuesday’s US primaries?
▪️ Minnesota
Rep. Ilhan Omar narrowly defeated her primary challenger for the state’s 5th District, winning some 51% of the vote. Opponent Don Samuels, who conceded after clinching 48% of the vote, told reporters he would have won if Omar hadn’t received Democratic backing. Omar will now go on to face Republican Cicely Davis in November.
▪️ Wisconsin
Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes, who became the frontrunner once entering the US Senate race, snagged the Democratic nomination late Tuesday after obtaining nearly 79% of the vote. He will face off against the GOP’s Ron Johnson. As for Trump-backed businessman Tim Michels, he’s now expected to face Democratic Gov. Tony Evers after grabbing ahold of his winning ticket in the state’s gubernatorial race. The Democratic challenger has referred to Michels as the “most extreme and divisive nominee possible.” The governor’s race proved the latest snag between former US President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, both of whom have backed different candidates in swing states.
▪️ Vermont
The Great Mountain State, which has never had a woman part of its congressional delegation, sided with Becca Balint for Vermont’s lone Democratic House seat. Balint is favored to win the House bid as Rep. Peter Welch inches toward replacing the Senate position held by retiring Sen. Patrick Leahy.
▪️ Connecticut
In a state long home to the Republican base, Trump-backed Leora Levy will go head to head against two-term Sen. Richard Blumenthal.

🤔 Former president Donald Trump is expected to sit this Wednesday for a deposition in the New York Attorney General’s civil investigation into the Trump family’s business practices.
▪️ Trump will be sitting down with attorneys from Letitia James’ office at an undisclosed location agreed upon by the parties and behind closed doors. It’s unclear at this time if the former president will be willing to answer all the questions that the lawyers pose him or if will assert his Fifth Amendment right.
