😷People recovering from COVID-19 suffer from increased rates of brain fog and dementia, according to the largest study of its kind, which was published on Thursday.

The research suggests such neurological and psychiatric conditions remain more common for as long as two years after a COVID-19 infection compared with other respiratory infections.

Researchers also found an increased risk of anxiety and depression, but noted that this subsides to rates in line with other respiratory diseases within two months of contracting COVID-19.

The study, published in The Lancet Psychiatry journal, analyzed data on 14 neurological and psychiatric diagnoses gathered from more than a million patient health records, mostly in the United States, during a two-year period, reported Sky News.

🚴‍♂️ Peloton's high-end exercise bikes and other gear will now be able to be bought on Amazon in the U.S., in a partnership aimed at boosting the fitness company's sales that have languished since the easing of pandemic lockdowns.

“We want to meet consumers where they are, and they are shopping on Amazon,” Kevin Cornils, Peloton's chief commercial officer, said in a statement Wednesday. The collaboration is Peloton's first with another retailer. Before, its products were sold only through its website, physical showrooms and other channels.

And it comes after the company said it was shedding jobs, shifting its delivery work to third-party vendors, and significantly reducing the number of stores it has in North America.

◾️The Biden administration has strengthened the legal standing of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy by making it an official regulation in the Federal Register, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a press release.

"Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro N. Mayorkas today announced that the Department has issued a final rule that will preserve and fortify the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy for certain eligible noncitizens who arrived in the United States as children, deferring their removal and allowing them an opportunity to access a renewable, two-year work permit," the release said on Wednesday.

DACA was launched by the Obama administration in 2012. The policy permits children of illegal immigrants brought to the United States under 16 to remain in the country, provided they had arrived by 2007. The policy helped protect at least 700,000 young immigrants from deportation.

🤨 The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) told its agents not to probe first son Hunter Biden’s so-called “laptop from Hell” for months, the New York Post has reported.

▪️ The newspaper referred to Republican Senator Ron Johnson’s letter to Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, in which the GOP member in particular cited “individuals with knowledge” as saying that “local FBI leadership” had slow-walked the laptop investigation after the computer was recovered from a Delaware repair shop in December 2019.

▪️ Arrendondo received much of the blame for his officers’ 77-minute delay in tackling the teenage assailant and he is the first officer to have been dismissed.

▪️ Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District's board of trustees voted unanimously to fire Pete Arredondo. The decision generated cheering in the auditorium during the meeting; some in the audience jeered at him, shouting “Coward!”
