Adidas to Investigate Claims it Turned Blind Eye to Kanye West Shenanigans

Sportswear maker Adidas is expected to launch an investigation into allegations of Kanye West’s misconduct during the time of the rapper’s partnership with the company, which recently came to an end.

This came after a US magazine published claims, outlined in an anonymous letter sent by former employees to Adidas, about Kanye intimidating and abusing people he worked with, including the rapper showing those people porn and explicit photos of his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Elon Musk Claims Twitter Hate Speech Drastically Down

Elon Musk has claimed that "hate speech impressions" have decreased drastically on Twitter amid growing concerns over the spread of antisocial messages. Musk has reinstated accounts including that of former US President Donald Trump and Kanye West.

"Hate speech impressions down by 1/3 from pre-spike levels. Congrats to Twitter team!" Musk tweeted on Thursday.

How Europe Created Its Latest Refugee Crisis

🤔Europe has found itself amid a new refugee crisis, which, some argue, is worse than that of 2015, when 1.3 million asylum seekers from Middle Eastern war zones arrived.

▪️More than 7.8 million Ukrainian refugees have been recorded across Europe, with 4.7 million registered for temporary protection schemes, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

▪️This comes in addition to over 365,000 first-time asylum applicants, most of whom are fleeing war-torn Syria and Afghanistan. What's more, refugee figures for 2022 could reach up to 9.6 million under the recently recalibrated Refugee Response Plan.

Riddle of High-Speed Plasma Jets Shooting From Galactic Nuclei Solved by Astronomers

🔭A team of astronomers led by Ioannis Liodakis from the University of Turku has managed to gain new insight into the nature of blazars – active galactic nuclei that emit jets of magnetized plasma pointing nearly towards the observer.

Using the Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) – a space observatory that is a joint venture between NASA and the Italian Space Agency – Liodakis and his colleagues took a closer look at a blazar called Markarian 501 located over 300 million light years away.
