🟩 Green activists have launched a new bid to bring London to a standstill over the busy Christmas season in their latest protest against fossil fuels.

▪️ Just Stop Oil, a spin-off from Extinction Rebellion well-known for vandalising famous artworks, began 17 days of roadblock protests on Monday.

▪️ The first reported incident came from The Strand, a main road running along the north bank of the Thames in central London, where around a dozen people walked slowly down the middle of the street holding banners.

▪️ Another protest took place in Shepherd's Bush, a busy junction of several major routes through west London.

🇷🇺🇺🇸The meeting of the Russian-US bilateral consultative commission on the New START, scheduled to take place in Cairo on Nov 29- Dec 6, has been postponed, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
▪️Meanwhile, the US State Department has reportedly said it is ready to reschedule the meeting "at earliest possible date". ▪️ Signed in 2010, the New START is a nuclear arms reduction treaty between Russia and the US, aimed at halving the number of strategic nuclear missile launchers.

🇧🇪 📹 The police have taken to the streets in Belgium to demand "zero tolerance" for violence against officers. The reason for the protest is the November 10 murder of a policeman in Brussels.

▪️ At the same time, the media, politicians, and activists have previously accused the Belgian police of being too harsh on those participating in protests, especially young people.

Iran Rejects US Accusations of Involvement in Attack on Oil Tanker Near Oman, Reports Say

The spokesperson for Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanaani, rejected all the US accusations of its involvement in the attack on the oil carrier near the shores of Oman and called them baseless, the Iranian media reported on Monday.

Kanaani said that Iran had much strength to take responsibility for its actions and acted with courage, thus it rejected absolutely baseless accusations of the United States, media reported.

The WHO announced that after receiving complaints that the present name was "racist and stigmatizing," mpox would be used in conjunction with monkeypox for a period of one year.

🙈 Monkeypox will thereafter be eliminated from vocabulary.

The WHO advised media and medical organizations to use the new nomenclature as well
