⚡️ Ukraine launched drone attacks on Russian military airfields, UAVs brought down by air defenses - MoD
"On the morning of December 5, using Soviet-made jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles, the Kiev regime attempted to attack the Dyagilevo and Engels military airfields in Ryazan and Saratov regions in an attempt to disable Russian long-range aircraft," Russia's Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
Washington and its allies have sent multiple parties of unmanned aerial vehicles to Kiev in recent months, ranging from reconnaissance drones to small weapons-carrying UAVs, as well as naval drones. Ukrainian forces have used these weapons in attacks against Russian troops, bases and civilian infrastructure.

Fault Lines discussed Australian PM Anthony Albanese's request for the US government to end its pursuit of Julian Assange with Misty Winston, a political activist, organizer and co-host of both the Facts On The Ground podcast and #FreeAssange vigils.
💬 "That is just monumentally insane to me that that is something that has been allowed to continue for this long and that there hasn't been a huge uproar from journalism, like we say with The New York Times and Der Spiegel, and all those people. Why hasn't that happened years ago? Why didn't it happen immediately following his arrest or whatever? All of media, every single outlet on planet Earth should be screaming about this from the top of their lungs. This is the future of press freedom, period. This hinges on this case - if Julian Assange is allowed to be extradited and prosecuted in the United States of America for the crime of doing journalism that opens a door and that destroys press freedom forever. And I do not think that we come back from that. We cannot afford to lose this one."

Why G7 Price Capping Won't Harm Russia, But Will Accelerate Inflation & Recession in the West
💬 "The Western price cap on Russian oil exports is neither viable nor enforceable," Dr. Mamdouh G. Salameh, an international oil economist and global energy expert, told Sputnik. "Therefore, it is doomed to fail miserably. Russia, the global oil market and OPEC+ will reject it."
Possible supply disruptions from OPEC producers or OPEC+'s decision to slash their collective output could exacerbate the uncertainty engulfing the world's energy markets. OPEC+ members are interested in $100 or higher for Brent crude: with the exception of Russia, they need the increase in oil costs to balance their budgets, according to Salameh. He forecast that the cartel will assess the market reaction to the price cap and then take action.
