Tesla CEO Elon Musk is being sued over tweets from 2018 in which he said he had secured the funding to take the carmaker private, a claim that sent the stock on a rollercoaster ride, media reported on Tuesday.
The securities-fraud lawsuit is seeking damages for investors who feel they were defrauded by Musk and Tesla of billions of dollars because the tweets about the funding being certain turned out to be false, the American media reported.

A record 38% of Americans had to put off their medical treatment in 2022 because of cost, a Gallup poll showed on Tuesday.
"The percentage of Americans reporting they or a family member postponed medical treatment in 2022 due to cost rose 12 points in one year, to 38%, the highest in Gallup’s 22-year trend," the pollster said.

▪️On December 16, the Russian Embassy reported that Dmitry Syty had been injured in the explosion of an anonymous parcel that had been sent to him. He was hospitalized in a serious condition. Now he is undergoing a difficult rehabilitation in Russia.

Russian special presidential envoy and Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Second Asian Department, Zamir Kabulov, discussed the creation of favorable conditions for Afghan exports to Russia and an increase in imports from Russia with representatives of the Taliban* government, the Russian embassy told Sputnik.
The discussions took place during Kabulov's visit to Afghanistan, which took place on January 11-13.
"During the visit, the development of trade and economic ties was discussed with our Afghan partners, including an increase in imports from Russia and the creation of favorable conditions for Afghan exports to the Russian Federation," a spokesperson for the embassy said.

In response to the unfriendly actions of the European Union, Moscow has expanded the stop list of representatives of European institutions and EU member states who are banned from entering Russia, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"The European Union continues its attempts to put pressure on Russia through unilateral restrictive measures. On December 16, 2022, the EU countries adopted the ninth sanctions package. We consider such EU actions illegitimate, undermining the international legal prerogatives of the UN Security Council," the ministry said.
