Dedollarization is happening at a steady rate within BRICS and in the global economy, although more work needs to be done to accelerate the process, Michael Goddard, the president of the Netley Group, told Sputnik

"The harder part" in efforts to replace the dollar lies in the reserve aspect of the currency, the Netley Group president noted. For instance, the United States' big advantage at the moment is the breadth of its bond market, Goddard explained.

"One of the ways, I think, BRICS could develop something to compete with that would be the technology to actually link the BRICS bond markets," the entrepreneur added.

The entrepreneur also expressed hope that Russia and its partners in Asia would find new ways to facilitate investment flows.

"There will be very soon new ways to move capital in and out of Russia or in and out of anywhere. I believe a lot of that will come to the digital ruble, digital yuan that will enable people to move money. Plus, there will be an analogue of SWIFT which they are already working on. And between all of these things, they will be able to move money in and out of Russia," Goddard added.

The Russian MoD has issued the following statements on the Ukraine crisis:

▪️ The Russian Armed Forces have repelled eight enemy attacks in the DPR. They have inflicted around 350 casualties on the Ukrainian troops and destroyed three armoured fighting vehicles, five motor vehicles, three US-made M777 and M109 howitzers, and one D-30 howitzer.

▪️ The Russian Armed Forces have repelled three Ukrainian attacks in the Zaporozhye region. They have neutralised up to 95 Ukrainian personnel, one tank, two armoured fighting vehicles, and three motor vehicles. They have also wiped out US-made M777 and M119 artillery howitzers, one UK-made FH-70 howitzer, one Msta-B howitzer, one D-20 and one D-30 howitzers in counter-battery warfare.

▪️ The Russian Army has repelled one enemy attack in southern Donetsk. They have neutralised up to 140 Ukrainian personnel, one tank, two armoured fighting vehicles, and three motor vehicles.

▪️ The Russian Armed Forces have repelled one Ukrainian attack in the LPR. They have destroyed up to 55 Ukrainian troops, three armoured fighting vehicles, three motor vehicles, and one D-20 howitzer.

▪️ In the Kherson direction, they have neutralised up to 70 Ukrainian troops, one armoured fighting vehicle, seven motor vehicles, and one D-30 howitzer by fire.

▪️ The fighter aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces has shot down one Mi-8 helicopter of the Ukrainian Air Force near Krasny Liman.

▪️ The Russian air defence units have intercepted four HIMARS MLRS projectiles during the day.

▪️ During the special military operation, they have destroyed 467 airplanes and 249 helicopters, 6,759 unmanned aerial vehicles, 437 air defence missile systems, 11,826 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, 1,150 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 6,374 field artillery cannons and mortars, and 12,982 units of special military equipment.
