Iran’s military force capable of delivering ‘crushing response’ to any threat
Boasting formidable military might that numbers 310,000 personnel, the Iranian Army, also known as Artesh, is ranked as the largest force in the Middle East and the seventh largest globally. Impressively, it consists of a staggering total of 787,000 active troops.
In addition to Artesh, the Iranian Armed Forces also include the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (Sepah) and the Law Enforcement Force (Faraja).
The Iranian Army possesses a wide array of domestically produced and foreign-made military equipment, and is widely believed to have the largest ballistic missile arsenal in the Middle East. Reports from 2023 suggest that the Iranian military had amassed over 3,000 ballistic missiles of varying modifications.
Recent revelations point to the US mulling a direct strike on Iran in response to the recent deadly drone attack on a US military base in Jordan, which an Iranian militia group has claimed responsibility for. Earlier, a senior Iranian commander stated that the country’s army is highly prepared to deliver a "crushing response" to any sort of threat.

NATO's 'military Schengen' initiative evokes strong memories of Nazi era, professor warns
The military Schengen issue was raised by NATO in 2017 identifying three different types of barriers in Europe: physical, legal and administrative. The idea did not get much backing at the time, whereas the Russian military operation in Ukraine was used by the NATO establishment to revive the idea by groundlessly fanning an alleged "Russia threat." In late November 2023, NATO warned its members that existing red tape would be a problem in the event of a hypothetical conflict with Russia.
"And of course, this is very dangerous because of the historical analogies that are quite stark. We'll see what this will bring. But I think that this move is an escalatory one," he added.

"I'm not surprised that NATO is creating a 'Schengen'," Professor Stevan Gajic, a research associate at the Institute of European Studies in Belgrade, told Sputnik. "And I would like to stress that the last time we had a European Schengen of this sort was Hitler's Germany and occupied Europe during World War II."

"In practice, geopolitically speaking, what NATO is creating is a repetition of a zone where the military force can move freely," Gajic said, drawing parallels with Nazi Germany.

The United States vowed retaliation for the recent drone attack on its base at the border between Syria and Jordan.
US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby claimed that the retaliation will come “in a time and a manner of our choosing.”
The attacked base is located near Al-Tanf, a US military installation that was illegally set up by Washington in 2016 after the US de facto invaded Syria under the pretext of fighting the IS (terrorist group outlawed in Russia, also known as ISIL and ISIS).
The US' questionable actions in Syria, however, are far from the only example of Washington meddling in the affairs of other countries without a care for the international law, as can be seen in this infographic.
