Ball in NATO’s court on ending Ukrainian crisis
“I think that the most important message in Putin's interview [to Tucker Carlson] is that Russia is ready for a political or diplomatic solution of the Ukraine conflict,” Russian international affairs observer Dmitry Suslov told Sputnik.
“But it requires a political will from the United States. Putin identified the concrete conditions on which Russia would be ready to end the conflict through diplomacy. And this is first, the recognition of the current territorial settlement. Putin bluntly said that it's up for NATO to look for and to find a form which could be, I mean, not humiliating for them, but accepts the current territorial settlement. Secondly, Istanbul communique [agreed in the spring of 2022, before the West forced Kiev to break off negotiations, ed.],” Suslov, the deputy director of the Center for European and International Studies at Russia’s Higher School of Economics, said.

“Thirdly, he identified in a very detailed way the condition of denazification and explained what it means, and also, mentioned that it was partly included into the Istanbul communique. So, I think that this is a very important message, that if the United States is ready for serious negotiation on the basis of these conditions, Russia would not hesitate to resume and to start those negotiations,” the observer noted.

Fact Check: General Syrsky, heroic defender of Kiev? Mainstream media have already begun fawning over newly appointed Ukrainian Armed Forces commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrsky, with Bloomberg pointing to his “key” role “in defending Kiev against all odds…
Syrsky’s command will see more “meat grinder assaults" driven by fanatical loyalty to Zelensky
Newly picked Ukrainian Armed Forces commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrsky is “absolutely loyal to the current government. He is ready to continue the policy of ‘meat assaults’ and it is easier for him to do this, since his reputation allows for it,” Nikolai Kostikin, an expert from the Military-Political Analysis Bureau think tank, told Sputnik.
“Ukraine’s Armed Forces now have prospects for the continued mass slaughter of their personnel. And it is not Ukrainians who command Ukrainian troops. The policy of meat assaults will continue until the front collapses like dominos,” Kostikin said, adding that “so far, Syrsky has proven himself only as a ‘cauldron general’, responsible, in the minds of Ukrainian officers, for the defeat at Debaltsevo in 2015.”

An unknown unidentified aircraft (presumably American) struck targets near the Syrian-Iraqi border, Sputnik's correspondent in Syria reports.
The airstrikes targeted positions of Syrian state army allied forces in Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria. The strike coincided in time with another missile attack on a US military base near the Koniko oil&gas field in the same province.

Germany can’t reveal Nord Stream attack perpetrators because gov’t is infested with American agents
“Even the fact that the investigation has been classified as ‘secret’, i.e. the public is isolated as much as possible from it, despite the colossal harm done to both the German economy and the country’s prestige in general,” is concerning, Eugen Schmidt, a Bundestag lawmaker from the opposition Alternative for Germany, told Sputnik, commenting on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s interview with Tucker Carlson, in which the September 2022 attacks on the Nord Stream pipeline network was brought up.
“It’s quite obvious that the beneficiary of such an act is first and foremost the United States. And technically, they could do it. That is, they are one of the few countries that could pull off something like this,” Schmidt stressed.
Unfortunately, Germany’s current government and ruling elites are “absolutely dependent” on Washington and “are not able to pursue any sovereign policy. They’ve shown their status as a vassal. That’s why they’re hiding the results of the investigation,” the lawmaker believes.
The consequences of losing access to Russian energy, and walking lockstep with Washington’s anti-Russia policies include an economy “bursting at the seams, with businesses closing and moving abroad,” and Germany being treated like “some kind of foreign policy dwarf” on the world stage, the lawmaker said. “Energy prices are breaking records. We’re paying crazy amounts of money for American liquefied natural gas at the same time that we’re imposing sanctions on [Russian] pipeline gas.”

Hungary has never participated and will never participate in arms deliveries to Ukraine amid the ongoing conflict with Russia, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto told RIA Novosti.
The foreign minister emphasized that one of Hungary's conditions to agree with the European Union allocation of 50 billion euros in aid to Ukraine was for the money not cover any weapons deliveries.
Szijjarto said Budapest received guarantees from Brussels that Hungarian funds frozen by the EU would not be sent to Ukraine and that a transparent mechanism would be created to control the expenditure of funds allocated to that country.

“Hungary has never been part and we will never be part of any actions which aim at delivering weapons to Ukraine. Simply because we do believe that the more weapons are being delivered to Ukraine, the longer the war will take and the longer the war takes more destruction will take place and more people will die,” Szijjarto said.

US President Joe Biden’s response to special counsel Robert Hur’s report on his handling of classified information, which mentioned the President’s alleged memory issues, made the situation “infinitely worse" Ed Martin, former chairman of the Missouri Republican Party told Radio Sputnik’s Final Countdown on Friday.
“He couldn’t control it because he was so angry [...] he made it infinitely worse,” Martin argued.
Martin called it a “tragedy” that Biden’s family allows him to continue serving in his current state.

NATO's existence is a Cold War relic aimed at preventing closer Europe-Russia ties, Adriel Kasonta London-based foreign affairs analyst said.
Kasonta dismissed Western fears of a Russian attack on NATO as baseless, arguing that such fears are propagated to justify military spending and support the US military-industrial complex.
Kasonta also pointed to the economic incentives behind portraying Russia and now China as boogeymen, suggesting that these narratives are designed to keep European countries aligned with US policy objectives rather than their own.

"NATO is the relic of the past that serves as a useful tool to keep this environment of threat of imagined possibility of the conflict and serves as a tool to put a pressure on Europeans not to conduct their own foreign policy," stated Kasonta.

The history lesson Russian President Vladimir Putin gave US journalist Tucker Carlson was a necessary aspect of the interview to show Americans that the conflict in Ukraine did not start in February 2022 and that the US and Russia could have struck up a partnership in the wake of the Cold War, Rick Sanchez, an American journalist, former CNN anchor and current host of two shows on RT, told Radio Sputnik’s Fault Lines.
“I think Putin went in saying, ‘I’ve got a long and important story to tell, and it begins with A [and] ends with Z.’ He was hell-bent on taking him through that,” Sanchez explained, noting that Putin’s knowledge of history and geopolitics and his ability to recall them was impressive to watch.
He noted that according to Putin’s account, the Russian president tried to be friends with the US but was rebuffed by the heads of certain US departments.

“The word that comes to mind is necessary. Necessary,” Sanchez explained to co-hosts Jamarl Thomas and Melik Abdul. “For some damn reason in this country, we have decided that we will allow our government officials, our State Department, oftentimes, people who aren't even elected, to determine whom we are allowed to hear and whom we are allowed to listen to.”

[...] Why do we want to be in a state of internal friction and even war with this country? The only answer I come to is money.”

The oddities in Biden's behaviour were pointed out by the personal physician of former US presidents Obama and Trump, calling for documented cognitive tests to be carried out on the head of the White House.
"He doesn't need a [cognitive] screening test .... He needs an actual cognitive battery of tests, objectively done, put on paper, and briefed to the American people by his physician," said Ronny Jackson. In his opinion, Biden's constant blunders show that he should not be the person responsible for nuclear weapons in the US.
