Brazil says four mercenaries dead or missing in Ukraine

"The Foreign Ministry, through the Brazilian Embassy in Kiev, is aware of the death or disappearance of four Brazilians in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict," a source told Sputnik.

The Brazilian government did not provide a list of the dead, but according to local media reports, all the volunteers had served less than three months at the front.

▪️ Among the dead was a woman, Talita do Valle, 39. She died just three weeks after arriving in Ukraine, asphyxiated by a fire in the bunker where she was hiding. Her ashes arrived in Brazil a few months later, and the family suspects that they are not her remains. They also accuse Talita's colleagues of stealing her possessions worth 70,000 reals (more than $13,400).

"Unfortunately, 'Foreign legion' has become a stronghold of corrupt people," Teu Rodrigo Vieira, the victim's brother, told the UOL portal.

▪️ The youngest mercenary to die, Antônio Asitiani, was only 25 years old.

▪️ In June 2022, Andre Louis Ak Bai, 44, was found dead.

▪️ One month later, Douglas Rodriguez Burigu died in Kharkov. His family reported that he originally wanted to do humanitarian work, but ended up at the front.

▪️ The mercenary Max Panavo, who has been posting about his life on social media, also traveled to Ukraine. A number of media outlets claimed he was missing, but his close friend believes Panavu died in Avdeyevka.

In mid-March, the Russian Defense Ministry said that 13,387 foreign mercenaries had arrived in Ukraine during the special military operation to fight on the side of the Kiev regime. During this period, 5,962 fighters were eliminated. From Brazil 268 mercenaries arrived, 136 of them were eliminated.

Kalashnikov's brand new drones presented to Russia’s Defense Ministry

▪️Karakurt is a mini unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) able to conduct reconnaissance in real time. The drone’s maneuverability allows it to be launched in limited space conditions from a compact transport and launch container.

▪️SCAT 350 M is designed for full-time aerial reconnaissance in the optical and infrared ranges. The drone has proven to be highly effective in combat situations in the special military op, according to Kalashnikov.

▪️Kvazimast equipment lifting system provides high-speed data exchange with a ground information station via a power cable. The platform is capable of operating in radio silence mode, with a minimum flight time of 24 hours. In addition, it is capable of moving the ground station and the UAV operator away from the point of hovering to 500 meters.

Baikal-Amur Mainline will allow Russia to join rising Asia-Pacific region destined to dominate global economy - expert The Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) is a “key pillar in the development of the Russian economy in the eastern direction,” Nikita Maslennikov…
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Russia’s Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM). What was initially intended as an alternative to the legendary Trans-Siberian Railway turned out to be one of the world’s longest railroads and prompted a shift in Russia’s economic and logistical impact in the Asia-Pacific region.

BAM’s strategic and geopolitical significance cannot be overstated as it shifted the country’s focus eastward, preemptively promoting the transition towards multipolarity.

President Putin noted that its capacity has tripled over the past 12 years and continues to grow.

“Over 300 infrastructure facilities have been made [fully] operational, including the Severomuysky, Kuznetsovsky, and Kodarsky tunnels, as well as the bridge across the Amur River,” he said.

‘Tsar grill’: Russian ‘turtle tanks’ defy Ukrainian FPV drones

Russian forces are successfully using T-72 tanks fitted with a shed-like metal cover on top to help protect against drone attacks in the special military operation.

🔸 These “cope cage” armored vehicles, also known as “turtle tanks”, were specifically designed to survive strikes by first-person view (FPV) kamikaze drones;

🔸 One of the “turtle tanks”, which reportedly “looked to have the largest metal covering seen to date," effectively supported recent Russian troop attacks near the town of Krasnogorovka;

🔸 The tank, nicknamed “tsar grill”, added to a successful landing of the Russian assault troops and their subsequent offensive outside the town;

🔸 In addition to the cope cage, this “turtle” armored vehicle is equipped with “an omni-directional counter-drone electronic warfare jammer with eight antennas, a design that has been increasingly seen on other Russian tanks and armored vehicles,” according to The War Zone (TWZ) news channel;

🔸 Russian military correspondent Alexander Sladkov called the T-72’s metal cover “combat tuning” rather than a sign of scarcity;

🔸 The TWZ pointed to “apparently growing number of ‘turtle tanks,’” which “look to be part of these renewed Russian offensive operations.”

Ukraine attacks 'Valkyrie' Russian ballerina-turned-militia fighter with FPV drones

Overnight, during the offensive operations of the Espanola brigade near Chasov Yar, DPR, dozens of FPV drones attacked the transport of the Espanola assault company, representatives of the brigade told Sputnik. Among those attacked was the company commander, codename "Pitbull", and his deputy "Valkyrie" - a ballerina-turned-militia fighter.

"During the offensive operations carried out in this direction by the small mobile groups of Espanola, using a variety of modern means of warfare, one of the main elements of the battle is electronic warfare systems. Such warfare makes it possible to protect the units from the most significant threat for today - UAVs, launched by the enemy, literally in thousands, in a variety of modifications. Therefore, unfortunately, it is impossible to avoid incidents like today at the front," explained the Espanola representative.

"An emergency situation required 'Pitbull' to go outside our electronic warfare work area. The enemy soon attacked his vehicle, a UAZ Patriot pickup, from the air with FPV drones. In a forest belt on a narrow road, Pitbull's car did not have enough speed and maneuverability, and it was not possible to escape the impact; the enemy's attack hit right in the middle of the vehicle. But the good preparation and physical condition of the Espanola fighters allowed them to avoid serious losses," he noted.

Along with 'Pitbull', who was driving the car, were his deputy 'Valkyrie' and a unit with the call sign 'Dantes' (photo 1). All three suffered minor bruises, but the transport was obliterated with no chance of recovery (photo 2).

As 'Valkyrie' told Sputnik, her comrades who were caught in the confusion are fine (see photo 3). No serious medical intervention was necessary.
