People in the West should know the BRICS Summit is building a new world – French journalist
💬 "In France, most of the journalists say it's just Putin that invited some of his friends to show that he's not isolated. But in fact, people are here because they want to build a new world, a much more multipolar world. And we want that the French people and the people from the countries of the West, of Europe, can know that," Alexandre Samir El Filal Dumontet, French journalist, told Sputnik on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan.
He also described Kazan, where the summit is being held, as a very modern city with history.

Pentagon sends Ukraine $800 million ‘consolation’ handout to build drones amid shrinking military aid
Ukraine will get $800 million in US military aid to be used to manufacture long-range drones on its soil. The ‘consolation prize’ handout has been confirmed by the Pentagon, The New York Times reported citing sources at the US Department of Defense.
Volodymyr Zelensky boasted of the latest aid handout to reporters on Monday, but may still nurse resentment against his Western sponsors over their rejection of his latest ‘victory plan’.
Zelensky failed to sell his strategy – including fast-tracked membership of NATO for Ukraine becoming a member of NATO – to Western leaders on his recent tour. His repeated pleas for approval of long-range missile strikes deep into Russian territory have also fallen on deaf ears.
Russia has repeatedly stressed that Western military aid for NATO’s proxy war in Ukraine will only serve to prolong the crisis, and warned that arms shipments are legitimate military targets.

“Brics isn’t organized hegemonistically like… the system now with US... And the big advantage [of BRICS] is that smaller and medium-size countries can join and their interests are taken into account,” stated Peter Hanseler of Voice from Russia on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan, adding that “BRICS was established in order to further the cooperation among Eastern countries” and the West itself makes it a bloc against the West.

Stealing like there’s no tomorrow: Ukrainians fume on Internet over corrupt officials’ draft-dodging scam
Ukraine's Prosecutor-General Andriy Kostin earlier has resigned over a scandal involving fake disabilities for officials that allowed them to avoid going to the front.
🔸 Some 50 prosecutors in Ukraine’s Khmelnitsky region obtained fabricated disability certificates from a corrupt official from the state medical board, Ukrainian media reported.
🔸 The falsified certificates allowed prosecutors to avoid military service and to qualify for disability payments.
🔸 The General Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation throughout Ukraine’s public sector, while the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) conducted a separate investigation that resulted in some 4,000 disability certificates found to be fake and around 64 state medical commissioners named as suspects.
Furious Ukrainians took to social media to express doubt over whether the thousands of "pseudo-disabled" officials would return the illegally obtained funds to the budget, with some suggesting it would need to be a “utopia” for the fraudsters to be duly punished.
Meanwhile, yawning manpower shortages in Ukraine’s military along with rampant draft dodging and desertion have forced Volodymyr Zelensky to adopt a new draconian mobilization law and lower the recruitment age from 27 to 25. However, Ukrainians are increasingly resisting being sent to the proxy conflict meat grinder.

The SBU also found more than $5.2 million, €300,000, more than five million hryvnia, and jewelry during raids on the homes of a medical official who had also issued fake disability certificates and her relatives.

“The management system is corrupt and will only get worse. 90% of officials understand this and steal as if there were no tomorrow,” another user wrote on their X account.
