🇭🇺 Hungary cancels minority rights talks with Ukraine after Kiev’s diplomatic meltdown – statement

Hungary has called off a planned May 12 meeting with Ukraine on the rights of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia, citing a recent espionage scandal.

💬 "The events of the last few days in the Hungarian-Ukrainian relations preclude good-faith, constructive consultations on such an important and sensitive issue as minority rights," Deputy Foreign Minister Levente Magyar wrote on social media, referring to his scheduled meeting with Ukrainian Deputy PM Olga Stefanishina.

On May 9, Ukraine detained two individuals accused of spying for Hungarian military intelligence. Hungary responded by expelling two Ukrainian diplomats; Kiev retaliated by expelling two Hungarian diplomats.

💬 Magyar added that Ukraine’s actions "cast doubt on the sincerity of their intentions to resolve open issues" but noted: "For our part, we are still ready for dialogue."

Hungary has repeatedly stated that Ukraine’s EU path depends on restoring the pre-2015 rights of ethnic Hungarians in education and local governance.

🇦🇷📦 Argentina’s Supreme Court uncovers Nazi-era propaganda in archives – reports

Argentina’s Supreme Court has stumbled upon historical documents tied to the Nazi regime while preparing materials for a future museum, CBS News reported, citing a judicial source.

The findings include postcards, photographs, and propaganda used to spread Adolf Hitler’s ideology in Argentina during World War II. Some of the material was “intended to consolidate and propagate Adolf Hitler’s ideology in Argentina,” the source said.

The boxes are believed to be linked to a 1941 shipment of 83 packages from the German Embassy in Tokyo, which arrived aboard a Japanese steamship. Though labeled as “personal belongings,” the cargo was held by Argentine customs.

Supreme Court President Horacio Rosatti has ordered the preservation and detailed examination of the material.

🔍GIFT or GRIFT? Trump’s plush Qatari Boeing deal under fire

Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) is calling for an urgent ethics probe into reports that the Trump team plans to accept a $400M Boeing 747-8 from Qatar – one that could serve as both Air Force One and Donald Trump’s post-presidency private ride.

🟠Torres called it the “most valuable gift ever” to a US president, and dubbed it a “flying grift.”
🟠The Democratic National Committee also fired off a Sunday press release slamming the jet deal.
🟠Trump clapped back on Truth Social, claiming it's a free upgrade to replace the 40-year-old Air Force One, temporarily, and blasting critics as “World Class Losers.”

What about Qatar? The jet deal is still under legal review, the country’s media attaché to the US said in a statement.

🇷🇺🇺🇸🇹🇷Putin, Trump, Erdogan can steer Ukraine conflict to peace agreement - Sachs

🗣President Trump had a "far more accurate" understanding of the Ukrainian conflict than his predecessor Joe Biden did, American economist and Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs told Sputnik.

➡️The conflict could have ended in April 2022, but Biden had told Ukraine to "fight on," Sachs pointed out.

The economist added he was "cautiously optimistic," saying that Trump wanted to stop the conflict, which would be in the best interest of the US, Europe, Russia, and Ukraine.
