🚨Arab League warns of “circle of fire” of burning regional tensions at Baghdad Summit

The 34th Arab League Summit is underway, with leaders from 22 member states attending the event, hosted by Iraq for the first time since 2012.

High profile attendees include Egypt’s President el-Sisi and Qatari Emir Al Thani. Syrian president al-Sharaa is not attending, with Syria instead represented by FM al-Shibani.

“Dialogue, Solidarity and Development” is the summit’s theme.

Highlighting the “extremely difficult regional and international situation” against which the meetings are taking place, Iraqi President Rashid emphasized Baghdad’s support “for resolving disputes through peaceful means and bilateral dialogue,” and rejection of use of force and foreign meddling.
