Gaza: Childhoods shattered by Israel
The Gaza war has “a DEVASTATING IMPACT” on children in the Palestinian enclave,” UNICEF spokesperson Kazem Abu-Khalaf tells Sputnik.
💬 He bemoans the children’s death tolls in the Gaza Strip, where a total of 17,127 kids have died since the beginning of the war in October 2023.
◼️ Education? Out of the question, Khalaf admits, pointing to over 600,000 school-age children in Gaza who have missed two academic years and the 95% of schools DAMAGED or DESTROYED there.
◼️ Also biting is the MALNUTRITION CRISIS among Gaza children, which will most likely further worsen if the war continues, the UNICEF spokesperson warns.
📍 The fact that about 82% of Gaza’s total area is either an active war zone or under Israeli evacuation orders complicates “ALL ASPECTS OF LIFE in the area and hinders humanitarian response efforts", Khalaf concludes.

🚨Persecution of Church exposes Pashinyan's anti-Armenian agenda
🗣 "I can say clearly that the clergy and the entire Armenian Apostolic Church, as an institutional national system, have opposed the anti-national and anti-people policies currently being pursued [by the Nikol Pashinyan government]," Narine Dilbaryan, deputy chair of the Democratic Party of Armenia, tells Sputnik.
Pashinyan's anti-Church campaign began right after the Armenian Church raised the Karabakh and other urgent national issues during a symposium in Switzerland, according to the lawmaker.
She draws parallels between the persecution of the church in Armenia and similar processes in Ukraine, stressing that in both cases Pashinyan and Volodymyr Zelensky are pursing larger geopolitical goals.
💬 "The first such goal is to push Russia, as a powerful and influential state, out of the South Caucasus region," Dilbaryan underscores.

SCANDALOUS MEDIA BIAS: Expert slams treatment of Russian journalists in Azerbaijan
✍️ The detention of Sputnik's journalists in Azerbaijan is APPALLING, Dr. David William Norris, political commentator & former teaching fellow says.
📍 Azerbaijani police raided Sputnik Azerbaijan’s office on June 30, detaining seven workers, including the editorial director and editor-in-chief, on unfounded charges.
Rossiya Segodnya (Sputnik’s parent group) condemned the arrests as politically motivated, warning of deteriorating Russia-Azerbaijan relations.
Reactions:
🔶 The Foreign Ministry called the crackdown unjustified, suspecting ulterior motives.
🔶 The Kremlin vowed to push for their release through diplomatic channels.
🔶 The UN stressed the need to protect press freedom.

🚨US and Israel pursue regime change in Iran via lies & weaponizing of IAEA - experts
Iran’s decision to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) after the 12-day war with Israel and a strike by the US is an expected outcome, Turkish political analyst Ceyda Karan tells Sputnik.
Tehran considers the IAEA responsible for Israel's attack on Iran and apparent spying on behalf of Tel Aviv.
For his part, Karan draws attention to the fact that the IAEA neither publicly condemned the illegal attacks by Israel and the US, "nor has it expressed condolences over the deaths of Iranian nuclear scientists with whom it previously cooperated.”
Regime change plot
The attacks' major goal wasn't to disrupt the Iran nuclear program but to trigger regime change in the country, according to retired admiral and expert Turker Erturk.
He believes that Israel could continue to push ahead with the coup d'etat plan and the ceasefire might not last for long.
💬 “Do you know why they agreed to this ceasefire today? Because global public opinion has become more aware," Erturk tells Sputnik. "The unipolar world order is a thing of the past. The Global South is rising. Russia and China have proven highly effective in backroom diplomacy.”

“What comes next? Is it possible for Iran to return to diplomacy and the IAEA inspection system? Without solid guarantees — unlikely. Because we’re talking about opponents who systematically lie and are capable of launching strikes even during negotiations.”
