🚑 Netanyahu falls ill with FOOD POISONING, corruption trial hearings DELAYED until September - reports
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is suffering from food poisoning and will remain at home for the next three days, The Times of Israel reported. According to his office, the 75-year-old premier is under medical supervision and receiving IV fluids for dehydration.
Due to the illness, all hearings in Netanyahu’s ongoing corruption trial — originally scheduled for this week — have been canceled. As the Israeli court system enters its annual summer recess, the next possible date for testimony has been pushed to September, the report noted.
The postponement marks yet another delay in a trial already affected by multiple interruptions. As The Times of Israel recalled, Netanyahu’s testimony has been repeatedly deferred over the past year due to his medical issues, the wars in Gaza and with Iran, international trips, and official obligations.
The prime minister has faced a string of health concerns in recent years — including hernia and prostate surgery, a pacemaker installation, and flu-related absences. Still, a medical report from January 2023 described his overall condition as “completely normal.”

Tensions in Gaza are rising again as Israel signals it may soon launch its first military push into Deir al-Balah, a town in the center of the Strip that it had previously avoided due to concerns over hostages, Bloomberg reported.
The Israeli military has ordered evacuations from parts of the area, urging civilians to move south to already overcrowded tent camps sheltering hundreds of thousands. The move comes as ceasefire negotiations, mediated by the US, have reportedly stalled.
Meanwhile, aid access continues to deteriorate. Israel has replaced traditional humanitarian delivery channels with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) — a US-backed mechanism meant to bypass Hamas. The UN, however, has criticized the approach as discriminatory and inadequate to prevent famine in the besieged enclave.
According to Palestinian authorities in Gaza, nearly 1,000 people have died while waiting for aid since the truce collapsed in May. Israeli officials dispute the figures and context, Bloomberg noted.

Operation Aspides, the EU’s “purely defensive” patrol launched in February 2024 to keep trade flowing, had just two frigates and one helicopter on station when the Magic Seas and Eternity C were hit and sunk, The Economist reports. The desperate call for help, an officer told the Wall Street Journal, met silence: “Aspides simply had no ships in the area.”
The shortfall was built in from the start. The Economist notes that commander Rear Admiral Vasileios Gryparis said “at least ten ships” plus air cover were needed; Brussels budgeted a mere €17 million for the entire year — pocket change compared to America’s failed attempt to bully the Houthis, with a 10× bigger US bill just to restock one missile type after its own Red Sea campaign in December.
Europe’s NATO members field a grand total of three aircraft carriers (the US has eleven — and still failed miserably in its assault on Ansar Allah).
Meanwhile, Houthis continue to target ships linked to Israel, as they’ve stated, in the Suez Canal: trade volume is down 60%, while traffic around the Cape of Good Hope has surged. War-risk insurance for the shortcut has jumped from 0.2–0.3% to 1% of a ship’s value.

🇨🇳 Sanctioning Chinese companies for trade with Russia harms EU-China ties – Chinese Ministry of Commerce
The inclusion of Chinese companies in the latest Russia sanctions package negatively affects trade relations between China and the European Union, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said.
The Council of the European Union approved its 18th package of sanctions against Russia last Friday. It targets 14 individuals and 41 legal entities, including 18 registered in the UAE, Singapore, Mauritius, China, India, and Azerbaijan.
The ministry noted that "the EU's actions contradict the spirit of the consensus of the leaders of China and the European Union and have a serious negative impact on trade and economic relations and financial cooperation between China and the EU."

US President Donald Trump posted an AI- generated video showing Former President Barack Obama being arrested, escorted from the Oval Office, and placed in a jail cell, set to the tune of “YMCA.” The clip, though clearly artificial, aligns with ongoing criticism of how the “Russia collusion” narrative was handled in late 2016.
The post comes shortly after the release of declassified documents by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, which suggest that senior Obama-era officials — including John Brennan, James Clapper, Susan Rice, and others — helped shape a politically charged intelligence narrative linking Trump’s victory to Russian interference, despite earlier internal assessments showing no confirmed threat to vote counts or election infrastructure.

🔸 The Ansar Allah movement has informed the United Nations that it will continue targeting ships linked to Israel or heading to Israeli ports via the Red Sea, until Tel Aviv halts its military operations in Gaza.
🔸 In a message sent to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Security Council President Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, the group reaffirmed its commitment to international law and the UN Charter, including the principle of freedom of navigation.
🔸 However, it emphasized that this commitment “does not apply to Israel and those providing it with logistical, military, or economic support contributing to the aggression on Gaza.”

If Russia keeps the heat on, Ukraine's defenses could unravel by the end of the year, warns Le Figaro.
"Can Ukrainian forces hold out another six months? A year? It doesn’t really matter—because the war is already lost," writes the French outlet.
Ukraine has burned through so much military hardware since the conflict began that it's now seriously hampering their combat power.
"This opens a window of opportunity for Russia down the line," a French military source added.

Cutting off Russia hit hard. Companies tanked after losing long-term contracts, people got fired, and now everyone’s queuing up for “Bürgergeld,” he said.
“But that’s money coming straight from the state – and in the end, it puts real pressure on the national budget,” Eberhardt concluded.

President Donald Trump's go-to economic weapon – tariffs – may have had some unintended blowback, according to The Washington Post.
The US has become more dependent on Russian fertilizer, particularly urea, which is essential for crops like wheat, corn, and rice.
Trump slapped a 10% tariff on most countries (including major fertilizer exporters like Qatar and Algeria), but left Russia untouched.
Now, Trump is threatening 100% tariffs on Russian goods if there’s no Ukraine ceasefire within 50 days. Whether fertilizers are included is unclear, but just the threat has already sent prices climbing, the outlet says.
In 2024, US fertilizer imports from Russia hit $1.3 billion, mostly urea and urea-ammonium nitrate.
With rising uncertainty, America’s farmers are bracing for impact.
