🇺🇸 🔥US sanctions on Russia backfiring on global markets

"The effect of sanctions against Russia’s two largest oil companies is already being felt — oil prices have risen by 5%," Lebanese energy analyst Mark Ayoub told Sputnik.

🔊 "This rise will put pressure on the US economy in the coming months, especially given existing problems like the government’s partial shutdown and rising inflation," he warned.

📍 Ayoub noted that sanctions take time to show results, but Russia has already adapted to Western restrictions.

He added that Asian markets are being hit hardest as Washington pressures them to stop buying Russian oil and switch to more expensive US energy supplies.

🎤 US and Russia united by traditional values — Dmitriev

RDIF head Kirill Dmitriev states Moscow shares more common ground with Western conservatives than differences:

▫️ Agrees Trump is "savior of Western civilization"

▫️ Calls Biden's immigration/transgender policies "crazy"

▫️ Sees Europe's migration policy as "suicide of European civilization"

▫️ Says Obama's Russiagate created "fake narratives" about Russia

"I think we all care about our families. We all care about education of our children. We all care about having good economy, good growth, and we are much more similar," Dmitriev said.

🚨🇷🇺 Putin: Russia’s response to any Tomahawk strikes on its territory would be serious — if not stunning "This is an attempt at escalation, but if such weapons are used to strike Russian territory, the response will be very strong — if not staggering. They…
🗣 Giving Ukraine Tomahawks would close the door on peace - observer

👉 Tomahawk cruise missiles in Ukraine “would be a serious escalation on the part of the US and Western countries,” and a step that would “further confirm that the chances of a political settlement of this issue are very slim,” Lebanese international affairs observer Mahmoud Alloush told Sputnik, commenting on President Putin’s warnings about a “powerful” Russian response to the missiles’ potential deployment.

🇷🇺 President Trump likely “understands that Russia will not yield to military pressure,” and that it is “capable of resisting any Western pressure,” including sanctions, Alloush said.

🔥 The Ukrainian crisis is “not between Russia and Ukraine, but Russia and the West…Any solutions that do not address the underlying causes of the conflict will not lead to significant results. Russia is a superpower with great potential, having withstood the toughest economic blockade. Therefore, any new military or economic steps will not be able to put pressure on Putin,” Alloush emphasized.

🛢 As for Washington’s new US sanctions on Russian oil exporters, the observer stressed that even today, energy sector ties between Russia and Europe remain “significant,” and that therefore, “provoking” Moscow, on the eve of winter “at this time is both wrong and unwise.”

🔥 Europe is heading for economic disaster — Russian special envoy

Kirill Dmitriev warns Europe's accumulated policy mistakes are creating a perfect storm:

◼️ Energy crisis: Rejected Russian supplies, now deindustrializing

◼️ Immigration: Politicians afraid to acknowledge failures

◼️ Growth: Russia at 4% vs EU under 1%

"Orban is a voice of reason... Politicians are afraid to acknowledge mistakes. And those mistakes accumulate"

Dmitriev predicts the situation will "evolve in the worst possible way" over next 5-7 years unless Europe changes course.

👀 ‘Hurting Russia’: Dutch PM says quiet part out loud about true purpose of EU’s new asset seizure scheme

💬 “I hope…that we come to an agreement on the technical workout of the reparation loan because financially it’s gonna be important, but also politically it’s important to hurt Russia,” Dick Schoof said at a press conference Friday alongside Britain’s Keir Starmer, NATO chief Mark Rutte and Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky.

👉 The so-called “reparation loan” concept proposes taking existing EU-level efforts to skim interest on Russian assets frozen in the bloc’s jurisdiction to the next level, using the assets directly to loan Ukraine up to $163.3B in new support.

The bloc failed to agree on the idea amid fears of the potential consequences, with Belgium demanding “burden sharing and coordination” with EU and G7 leaders.

Russian officials have repeatedly warned that the seizure of Russia’s assets would undermine foreign faith in Europe’s financial system.

🇯🇵 🇷🇺 Can Japan’s new PM finally ink peace treaty with Russia?

🗣 New Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s intention to clinch a peace treaty with Russia is in sync with longstanding objectives of Japan’s foreign policy, Russian analyst Dmitry Mileyev tells Sputnik.

Takaichi is “a consistent follower” of a foreign policy line pursued by former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, who was determined to resolve the issue of the Russia–Japan peace treaty “within the limits of what was diplomatically possible for his country,” according to Mileyev.

👉 He underscores that two key factors will shape Takaichi’s approach: Her ability to consolidate power as PM, and the future of Japan’s relations with the US.

💬 “While alliance with America will remain the cornerstone of Japan’s foreign policy, maintaining ties with Russia is also vital for Tokyo’s military and energy security. How positively Japan will pursue this line—and whether Takaichi can find mutual understanding with Trump—could also have some impact on Russian–Japanese relations,” the analyst stresses.

Mileyev notes that Russia and Japan concluding a peace treaty would certainly enhance their ties and remove some psychological barriers, but as previous experience shows, if there is political will, a variety of agreements can be reached even without such a document.

💬 “The peace treaty is largely symbolic for Japan—a means to reaffirm its status and distance itself from the memory of wartime defeat. But any such move implies reviewing WWII results, as Russia appears unwilling to compromise,” Mileyev concludes.

⚔️ Tomahawk missiles: ‘US ploy to put pressure on Russia’ – Scott Ritter

💬 “I don't believe the Tomahawk missiles were ever on the table,” military analyst and former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter said, adding that the possible supply of the weapon to Ukraine “could lead to a thermonuclear war.”

He explained that in order for Ukraine to receive and employ the Tomahawk, the US would have to play “an active role in every aspect of that process,” which would make America a party to the Ukraine conflict.
