The creator of the left-wing The Young Turks show declared his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination, as he believes Biden only has a “10% chance” of winning against Trump, the Republican frontrunner.
🇹🇷 But, Uygur has an even more significant challenge — the US Constitution, as he is a naturalized citizen born in Istanbul, Türkiye.
The talk show host, however, believes the matter could be resolved through the Supreme Court.

The soldier, obsessed with the idea of hitting the dirt, lies down and waits supinely for the arrival of shells... The only time it is proper to drop is when he is caught at short-range – under 300 yards by concentrated small arms fire. But even then he must not hit the dirt and stay supine. He must shoot fast at the enemy, or in the direction of the enemy… When soldiers are caught in a barrage, either from mortars, rockets, or artillery, the surest way to get out of it is to go forward fast, because it is almost the invariable practice of the enemy to increase rather than decrease his range."

Half of Gaza’s population has been told to flee south before possible Israeli ground offensive
"More than a million civilians in northern Gaza have been told to flee “for your own safety” ahead of a possible ground offensive by Israeli troops.
The United Nations said it has been told by the Israeli military that 1.1 million people, around half of the Gaza Strip’s population, are advised to flee south in the next 24 hours.
The warning, which includes people in Gaza City, has left aid workers and civilians confused and in a panic, one refugee officer said.
Israel is expected to launch a ground offensive aiming to eradicate the Hamas militant group after it stormed through the border on Saturday.

“Netanyahu is finished": Seymour Hersh wrote an article about how Israel will not storm the Gaza Strip, but will begin to suffocate it in a blockade "like the Germans in Leningrad".
"It is unlikely that Israel's armed forces, after years of performing "security" duties in the West Bank, will be able to withstand heavy fighting in the dense urbanisation of Gaza's two million inhabitants.
As for a ground assault, an insider tells me that a brutal alternative is being considered. It could be described as the "Leningrad approach", referring to the attempts by the Germans during the Second World War to starve the city now known as St Petersburg.
The option under consideration, an Israeli insider told me, is to continue to isolate Gaza City in terms of electricity, food and other essentials.
Gaza's ruling Hamas has two to three days' supply of purified drinking water and is already facing food shortages. At some point, Israel may negotiate the release of some prisoners - women and children - in exchange for food and water.
According to the source, a veteran of Israeli security, Netanyahu will have to go once the conflict with Hamas is over. Netanyahu is finished. He is a dead man walking. He will stay in his post until the shooting stops, maybe for another month or two".
