Layoffs in Kraken

Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken announced layoffs that will affect 15% of its employees, or about 400 people, due to recent structural changes.

The restructuring aims to reduce the number of management levels; the cuts will likely affect management positions the most.

Kraken's plans include launching its own blockchain in 2025 and ongoing litigation against the SEC.

CZ spoke in public for the first time since being released from prison

Binance founder and ex-CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) attended the Binance Blockchain Week conference in Dubai, where he touched on his time in prison during his speech.

He revealed that since his release at the end of September, he has been focusing on two things: education and investing in the areas of blockchain, AI and life sciences.

CZ confirmed that his resignation as CEO of Binance was stipulated in an agreement with the US Department of Justice, which was already publicly known. The November 2023 deal did not include a lifetime ban, only a three-year term.
