I once did a rat dissection in some physiology lab. The rats we used were leftover from some radical obesity experiment so they were pretty close to little soccer balls with heads, feet, and tails. When you cut down through the layers of fat and into their abdominal cavity, it turned out that their organs were under so much pressure that they would immediately escape. So for some it was just a gross slow motion unfurling of their innards, and for some (especially the rats that turned out to have gotten pregnant) it was a more explosive process. More than one student ran out if the room screaming and one passed out. It was.. disturbing.
