In Hazony's defense (I know, I know), he's differentiating between ethnicity and race. I agree that race alone isn't sufficient—language, culture, religion, etc. are all factors that must be considered as well. But Hazony is ultimately guilty of erecting a strawman, for no one in the dissident right would argue that race is the only important factor. You're not forced to choose between "race matters" and "race doesn't matter."

Blexit Blues
On Friday, Dave Rubin tweeted the following:
"It’s pretty clear they’re freaking out about losing the black vote. Which they do deserve to lose.
Prediction: Trump gets 30% of the black vote."
Aside from the poor grammar, this tweet is atrocious – but not uniquely so. Every election cycle, conservative pundits recycle the same tired predictions about black people leaving the proverbial Democrat plantation in droves. This, of course, never happens, as the black vote remains solidly in the hands of the Democratic Party. (TPUSA’s ‘Blexit’ campaign has been a colossal failure and immense embarrassment.)
To be clear, I’m not ideologically opposed to attempts to get African Americans on board with populism. They’ve been here for hundreds of years, and they’re hurt more than most by mass immigration. Nevertheless, I am a realist, and I take issue with people repeatedly making false predictions. It’s undeniable that attempting to preach the gospel of limited government and low taxes to black people has failed miserably. At what point will mainstream conservatives realize that this demographic doesn’t want what they’re selling?
