Adjustments in the roadmap
Some points of the roadmap have been swapped around:
In Q4 2021, TON Subnoscriptions, the decentralized subnoscription system, and technical integrations with the world's top exchanges were launched, which has caused a rapid growth of network users.
In Q1 2022, we will focus on the TON Developers Program, TON DeFi, and the launch of TON Nominators.
Q2 2022 – TON DNS and TON Payments.
Q3 2022 – TON Proxy and TON Sites.
Q4 2022 – TON Storage.
Right now you can notice a lot of new developers in the community chats working with TON, but experiencing some lack of information and tools.
Of course, we assumed that TON would be of interest to third-party developers and product creators, but we did not assume that it would happen so quickly.
Therefore, we consider it necessary to adjust the flow of work.
First, we are going to start the TON Developers Program: create additional documentation, tutorials, as well as improve API, SDK and development tools.
Previously, it was planned to start this project halfway through the year.
Also, at the beginning of the year, we will focus on TON DeFi – standard smart-contacts for tokens, NFT, liquidity pools on the TON blockchain, – as we see a great need of the community in this direction.
The launch of TON Nominators is important to both users and validators, which is also a priority.

Toncoin’s ticker will soon be changed on exchanges and services from TONCOIN to TON.
The ticker of the wrapped token on Ethereum and BSC networks will remain TONCOIN as before.
During the transitional period, you may encounter both versions of the ticker. Pease check ton.org in case of doubt.

Main features of TON NFT:

Users of the TON extension for Google Chrome, please write down your wallet recovery phrases if you have not already done so.
Click menu in the top right corner → Backup Wallet → Write down your 24 recovery words in correct order and store them in secret place.

We are glad to announce that TON JavaScript SDK TonWeb is developing rapidly and today open-source contributor slavafomin has added full library typing.
Also note that TonWeb includes block subnoscriptions, work with NFT, periodic subnoscriptions and supports work not only in the browser or nodejs, but also in the react-native or worker environment.

We’re happy to share what’s been done in this area:
— API and SDK significantly improved.
— TON documentation revisited: from basic concepts to Toncoin payment acceptance code examples.
— New network explorers emerged.
— Dev tools — e.g., MyLocalTON — majorly revamped. New perfect tools such as toncli and IDEA Plugin were delivered by developer community itself.
— Rules for publishing apps and dApps on the ton.app catalogue were eased. From now on, anyone can list their product following a simplified moderation procedure. Community channels issue round-ups of newly arrived TON products.
— Big work on TON browser extension as one of the main ways to interact with dApps.
— New independent dev platform tonic.cx, which hosts AMA sessions from time to time. In general, we see a notable growth of chats and other communication channels for TON developers in many languages.
— Special attention is paid to competitions among developers. @toncontests keeps organizing more and more contests, the most recent of which – CodeTON on Codeforces, saw over 11,000 programmers participate. At the time of writing, there’s an ongoing Smart Challenge with a prize fund of $30,000 — a great way to get acquainted with the FunC language that’s used for writing TON smart contracts.
We’re thrilled to see new products and teams along with pull requests to open-source repos coming in volumes.
We’re not stopping at this. TON developers and product creators will always be one of the top priorities in The Open Network.

Over the past three months, the number of accounts created in The Open Network more than doubled from 170,270 on Jan. 1 to 382,148 on March 31.
The total number of subscribers across all TON social media pages and accounts surpassed 1.7 million subscribers — this number was merely 800,000 followers at the beginning of the year. Our community from over 10 countries read material in 12 languages.
Also, the growing interest is evidenced by the fact that the number of people following Toncoin at CoinMarketCap grew 6 times since the beginning of the year from around 35,000 to over 214,000 followers.
