AASTU STUDENTS UNION OFFICIAL pinned «If a student is caught while cheating inside the examinationhall using AI tools or electronic devices as defined in Article 101.2.1, thestudent shall be suspended from the University for two academic years, regardless of whether it is a first offense.»
Notice

Subject: Zero-Tolerance for Misconduct During the Examination Process

Dear Students,
As you are all aware, the Final Examination for second-year and above students commenced on Monday, January 5, 2026. While the examinations are generally proceeding as planned, the university has identified several cases of examination misconduct involving the possession and use of unauthorized electronic devices, including mobile phones.
The University hereby reminds all students that, in accordance with the Senate-approved amendment to the Senate Legislation, the following provisions are strictly enforced:

1. Prohibition of Electronic Devices
As stipulated under Article 101.2.1 and Article 102.14, possession of mobile phones, iPads, smartwatches, tablets, or any similar electronic or emerging technology is strictly prohibited in all examination halls, regardless of whether the device is used or not.

2. Security Screening Violations
In line with Article 101.13.1, any student caught during security screening while attempting to enter an examination hall by hiding or concealing electronic devices shall be suspended from the University for one academic year.

3. Cheating Inside Examination Halls
According to Article 101.13.2, any student caught cheating inside the examination hall using electronic devices or AI tools shall be suspended from the University for two academic years, irrespective of whether it is a first offense.
As per Article 101.13.3, a second offense of this nature shall result in permanent dismissal from the University, subject to recommendation by the College Academic Council and approval by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

4. Impersonation in Examinations
Any student found sitting an examination on behalf of another student, or allowing another individual to sit an examination in their place, shall face severe disciplinary actions as outlined under Article 101.13.3, including suspension, dismissal, and formal reporting to the Ministry of Education (MoE), where applicable.

Accordingly, the University maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward such misconduct and upholds academic integrity as a core institutional value. All students are therefore strongly advised to strictly comply with examination regulations, cooperate fully with invigilators and security personnel, and refrain from bringing any unauthorized materials or electronic devices into examination areas.
Failure to adhere to these regulations will result in immediate and non-negotiable disciplinary action in accordance with Senate legislation.

Best Regards
Kemal Ibrahim Yassin  (PhD)

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – LET'S STOP WASTING WATER TOGETHER!

Dear students/residents,

Every single day, a huge amount of clean water (estimated around 500 liters or more per day) is being wasted through the showers and water pipes in our dormitory/building.

We have observed two main reasons:

1. Taps are not properly closed after use (Some people just turn them slightly or forget completely)

2. Some taps/faucets are faulty and keep dripping or running even when "closed"

This is not a small issue 500 liters every day is enough water to fill many jerrycans that could be used by families who really need it.

What we can all do right now:

➥ Double-check that the tap is fully closed (turn it tightly clockwise until it stops)

➥ If a tap is leaking/dripping even when closed immediately report it to the maintenance office / warden / student council
➥ Before leaving the bathroom/shower area, take 5 seconds to confirm no water is running

Small habits from each of us can save thousands of liters every week.

Water is precious — especially in our community.
Let's not let it flow down the drain for no reason.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Dear Students,
Despite previous warnings regarding the use of mobile phones and AI during examinations, security checks continue to uncover prohibited devices. The attached image shows a recent incident where a student attempted to smuggle a phone inside their footwear in to examination hall.
Please be advised that under the revised Senate Legislation, such actions result in automatic dismissal from the program and a permanent mark on your academic record.
The University maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward cheating. We expect our students to uphold the highest standards of integrity. Please adhere strictly to all rules and regulations to avoid these severe, life-altering consequences.
