Reports are coming in that Russian forces have advanced into Toretsk itself for the first time and have taken up positions in the first two high-rise buildings.

The Ukrainian groupings in and around the Pivnichna mines are now at a serious risk of encirclement.

The second to last Ukrainian pre-war defensive fortifications fell today. The AFU is currently withdrawing from the salient near Niu-york. The frontline will soon settle around Nelipivka.

Ukrainian forces reportedly attacked Russian strongholds in the direction of Gordeevka in Kursk Oblast in another cross-border raid.

Ukraine is doing a lot of cross-border probing, looking for weak points in order to open up another front. I don't think we have seen the end of this offensive yet, even if these attacks continue to fail.

Ukraine has fired at least 7 UAVs at Russian territory.
1 is heading for Kaluga Oblast, 1 is heading for Dobrovsky district of Lipetsk Oblast, and the other 5 are heading for Stary Oskol, Belgorod Oblast.

The first two UAVs have likely entered Voronezh Oblast, from two different directions. One flew near Alexeyevka, and the other flew near Stary Oskol.

The status of the other three UAVs is currently unknown.

Russian air defence is active in Belgorod Oblast.

UAVs flying towards the Voronezh and Lipetsk Oblasts have disappeared, possibly the electronic warfare system has been damaged, or the signal has been lost.

Russia has conducted a large Shahed drone attack on Ukraine which is still ongoing. Here are the approximate live trajectories of the drones.

Ukrainian air defence is working in Vinnytsia.

2 Shaheds south of Vinnytsia. It is possible that the third in the region was shot down.

The shahed that flew over Kryvyi Rih has entered Poltava Oblast and turned west for Cherkasy.

Tochka-U missiles were launched at Kursk. No arrivals reported yet. Russian air defence was active in Oboyansky, Medvensky and Solntsevsky districts of Kursk Oblast.

Only 1 Shahed remains airborne in Ukraine. It heads back to Zolotonosha, Cherkasy Oblast.

- On the other hand, from the south the situation for the Russians is more complicated. After taking a large part of Plekhovo the Ukrainian forces took the town of Spal'noe and continued their advance inland through Krupets and Kamyshnoe to Gir'i, where they suffered heavy losses. Something similar happened the previous day a few kilometers further south where the troops crossed the localities of Kondratovka, Oxerki, Vishnevo, Maloe Soldatskoe, Belaya and Ivanovskii where they were also repulsed by the Russian troops. The area remains a large gray zone without a consolidated presence of both sides.

The last shahed turns back to Kyiv Oblast, reportedly flying near Kaniv.

Strong explosions in Kherson

A Russian soldier operating in the Sudzha direction reported that Ukrainian forces control the village of Mikhailovka, which is news to me considering that Russian forces recaptured Martynovka (slightly north of Mikhailovka).

My best guess on what happened would be as follows:

Ukraine attacked Martynovka, captured the village. Then without consolidating, they immediately exploited their momentum and advanced south into Mikhailovka, capturing that village too.

Russian reinforcements then launched a counterattack, recapturing Martynovka from the Ukrainians in order to alleviate the pressure on the Russian garrison that was stationed in eastern Sudzha at the time. The Russians, however, were either unable to recapture Mikhailovka, or haven't tried yet, and may be trying to encircle the AFU inside the settlement and use it as a staging ground for a counterattack on Sudzha, preventing Ukraine from achieving a buffer zone around the town.
