Following the capture of the Theima neighbourhood and the raid into the area of the Ashkelon School southwest of the town of Abasn Al-Kabira, IDF forces have begun a withdrawal process and are pulling back to the Theima neighbourhood.

Israeli Finance minister Smotrich: "We are destroying everything that is left of the Gaza Strip and in the future this will lead to the destruction of Hamas and the return of the kidnapped. The population will reach the south of the Gaza Strip and from there to third countries. We will bring in a minimum of food and medicine."

The first aid trucks in two months have entered the Gaza Strip.

Consequences of a Russian KAB/FAB glide-bomb strike on a 2-story building in the city of Lyman, Donetsk Oblast.

Lyman has again seen an uptick in the number of glide-bombs targeting it, coinciding with intensified Russian assault operations north and northeast of the city, due to its strategic placement and its usage as the primary logistical hub for the AFU from Nove, all the way to the front north of Bakhmut.

The IDF has issued evacuation orders for nearly the entire city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are sheltering here.

The IDF Arabic Spokesperson stated that "From this moment, Khan Yunis Governorate will be considered a dangerous combat zone." He urged civilians to more to the Al-Mawasi area.

Al-Mawasi has very limited infrastructure and Khan Younis has the last functioning hospitals in southern Gaza. Much of the evacuation zone was formerly part of the Al-Mawasi "humanitarian zone".

This is a huge development. Israel is set to begin ground invasion of the second largest city of the Gaza Strip for the second time. Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups hold a large presence in the city after the IDF withdrawal last year. This future invasion will undoubtably have a huge effect not only on the hundreds of thousands of civilians sheltering there, but also Hamas' Khan Younis Brigade (which contains some of the remaining elite fighters, some of which took part in the October 7th invasion), as well as other Palestinian armed groups such as the Saraya al-Quds brigades, the Mujahedeen Brigades, the Al-Nasser Brigades, among others.

Correction: The Nasser hospital is not included in the evacuation zone, as it is in the western part of the city, next to the Khan Younis Refugee Camp. There will still be a hospital to accommodate Palestinians in southern Gaza for the time being.
