As a result of recent Russian advances, Russian forces now control the entire western bank of the Oskil River from the city of Kupyansk, all the way up to the international border. This officially means that the advances over the Oskil River, which began in late November 2024, are now no longer a bridgehead, but rather a fully-fledged, connected and coherent front.

The effects this will have on the city of Kupyansk will be major, which is likely why Ukrainian forces have begun launching limited counterattacks in the area of the villages of Zapadne and Kindrashivka.

The IDF reported that one Israeli soldier was killed during clashes southeast of the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

He was a squad commander from the 92nd "Shimshon" Infantry Battalion, which is part of the 900th "Kfir" Infantry Brigade, of the 99th "Ha'Bazak" Infantry Division, and was reportedly killed in an RPG attack by Palestinian militants.
