Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces finally broke through Ukrainian defences in the direction of the Siversky Donets Canal near Klishchiivka.

Following reports of this a few days ago, visual confirmation came out showing Russian infanty operating along the canal. This indicates that not only have Russian forces successfully occupied the "Tetris" fortification to the northeast but have also captured a series of previously Ukrainian held treelines on one of the highest points of the hills surrounding Klishchiivka.

Now that this position has fallen, Russian forces will have full surveillance over the newly formed salient in and around the ruins of Andriivka, and it may allow for a simultaneous push from three directions: The railway line, the heights, and the village of Kurdyumivka. A push from the heights will be the easiest option for Russia as it will be a downhill battle.

Overall, this is sudden and unexpected news, and it will be a big blow to Ukrainian morale if they see all their territory that they worked so hard to recapture during the failed 2023 counter-offensive be captured by Russia.

Russian forces have reportedly entered the village of Zolota Nyva and are clearing Ukrainian positions in the settlement.

It's looking more and more likely that they are attempting to reach Velyka Novosilka from the southeast.

Meanwhile in Ukraine, Russia launched a smaller Shahed/Geran attack than usual. 2 drones are still airborne in the airspace of Ukraine, while the rest either hit their targets or were shot down.

Most of them targeted Lviv Oblast. It appears that Russia is still trying to hit the region in the aftermath of the large-scale missile strike two days ago which also targeted Lviv.

If this report by Deepstate is true, it would appear that Russian forces are attempting to bypass Ukrainsk following what appeared to be failed attacks on the town.

Official map updates will come later today.

2 Russian missiles were launched at Lyubotyn, Kharkiv Oblast. 1 has already hit its target, with explosions being reported.

More explosions in Kharkiv.

Approximate paths of Ukrainian UAVs over the past 24 hours:

A minimum of 4 UAVs were launched, likely from either Donetsk or Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

UAV flights were recorded Rostov Oblast. Based on the lack of explosion reports and the fact that no videos surfaced of drone strikes, it is highly likely that all UAVs were shot down by Russian air defence.

Reliable reports suggest that Ukrainian forces mounted a counterattack in Selydove, pushing the Russians out of the southern part of the city.

To recap, Russian DRGs entered the city and quickly advanced to the high-rise buildings on the southern bank of the Solona river. This was because the small Ukrainian garrison stationed there withdrew to more advantageous positions in the high-rise buildings as they waited for reinforcements, in the form of the 72nd mechanised brigade and the 15th operational recognition brigade.

The AFU then likely counterattacked with these new forces and recaptured the residential area south of the river. One source reported that Ukrainian forces went as far to drive the Russians from northern Selydove too, although this is unconfirmed as of the time of writing.
