The Russian MOD announced that a Ukrainian Su-27 fighter was shot down yesterday.

It appears that it was shot down over northern Zaporizhzhia Oblast by an R-37 air-to-air missile launched by a Russian Su-35 in the vicinity of Kam'yanka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, as the Su-27 was approaching its launch lines to launch glide-bombs at Russian positions (likely in the Hulyaipole direction).

While this is not 100% confirmed yet, it seems very likely. What's interesting is that, unlike usual, the Su-35 wasn't covering any Su-34s launching KAB glide-bombs and may have been circling in the area for the Ukrainian jets to arrive.

The Ukrainian GUR announced that the head of the Russian Volunteer Corps Denis Kapustin is still alive, and that his death was faked in a counterintelligence operation.

They stated that they staged his death to prevent his assassination and deceived the Russian Special Forces into granting them the reported $500,000 USD allocated as the prize money for killing him. The money will go towards funding the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In the Omelnyk direction, Russian forces continued to advance following the fall of Hulyaipole and have made new progress in two different areas.

In the northeast, Russian forces continued advancing through the fields west of Hulyaipole, and entered the neighbouring town of Zaliznychne. They advanced along the two gulleys leading from the western edge of the city, establishing control over positions in the forest plantations there.

Other forces advanced along the highway, capturing positions in two clusters of agricultural buildings and some treelines, before breaking into Zaliznychne. They quickly captured the railway station in the town centre, however, the 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skala" launched a counterattack and managed to clear them out. Fighting continues in the eastern part of the town.

In the southwest, Russian forces restarted assault operations west of Luhivske. They advanced down the road to Bilohiriya and entrenched in the eastern houses of the village. Other forces crossed the Konka River from Novopokrovka and captured the southern part of Bilohirya, linking up with the first assault groups and continuing the clearing of the settlement.

+ ~4.95 km² in favour of Russia.
+ ~0.29 km² in favour of Ukraine.

In the Dobropillya direction, Russian forces continued to advance west of Pokrovsk and have recaptured the Pokrovsk Coal Mine.

Building on their success southwest of the mine, Russian forces re-entered the western part of the mine from the nearby gulley. Other assault groups entered from the south, allowing for them to re-establish full control over it.

Using the mine as an accumulation point, the Russians began pushing further north, capturing new positions in the forest plantations. Infiltrations were carried out to areas as far as 1.9 km north of the mine.

+ ~2.92 km² in favour of Russia.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian forces continued to advance and have made additional progress north of the Kleban-Bykske Reservoir.

Russian forces continued pushing west through the forests along the northern bank of the reservoir and captured new positions there as Ukrainian forces continued to withdraw. Other forces advanced from the north, capturing positions in the treelines and reaching the edge of the forests.

+ ~4.06 km² in favour of Russia.
