Update from Gaza - Jabalia axis:

Following the beginning of the Israeli ground operation in Jabalia, the IDF has significantly advanced with armoured support into Jabalia, and are now approaching and entering the Jabalia refugee camp - one of, if not the most densely populated area of the entire Gaza strip.

Israeli forces advanced in two main directions, one in the north and one in the south. In the north, IDF tanks advanced into Gaza city and captured most of the district of Beit Lahiya, reaching the Hala al shawa medical centre. They then bypassed Jabalia refugee camp and seized the headquarters of the Beitna Foundation, where the Al-Qassam brigades detonated an explosive against an Israeli armoured personnel carrier. Additionally, an Israeli infantry force was targeted by a remote explosive device while moving through a residential building in the Turkish Hawuz area, west of Jabalia.

In the south, following the initial armoured breakthrough into the Jabalia district of Gaza city, Israeli forces turned to the Jabalia refugee camp and began clearing operations in the direction of the Jabalia refugee camp market. Bulldozing operations were also reported near the Jabalia services club. Fierce battles were reported in the vicinity of the UNRWA clinic in block 2 of Jabalia, marking the first battles inside the refugee camp itself since the beginning of the new operations. The Al-Aqsa martyrs brigades mortared Israeli troops in the vicintiy of the Civil administration east of Jabalia, indicating another Israeli advance. One Israeli soldier was killed after a RPG hit a Merkava tank in southern Jabalia, while multiple others were reportedly wounded.

Meanwhile, the effects on civilians in and around Jabalia has been significant. It is reported that the bodies of dozens of civilians are spread throughout the streets of Jabalia, and that the Civil Defence cannot reach them, likely due to extensive Israeli air and artillery strikes. The Israeli air force is bombarding the Jabalia refugee camp and Beit Lahia, with one source stating that they are targeting “anything that moves”.

Recent unconfirmed reports state that Russian forces have significantly advanced in Maksymilyanivka (Kurakhove direction), capturing the majority of the town.

If true, this was likely done by simultaneously advancing from their positions in the eastern part of the settlement, and from their reported bridgehead in the northernmost street.

The dotted yellow line is the new reported frontline, whereas the solid yellow line is the old reported frontline.

Around 45 minutes ago, a Russian missile (likely Iskander) was launched at Kharkiv. Explosions were reported and smoke was seen rising over the city.

No sirens sounded.

There have been some significant changes on the map over the last 24 hours. The Russians are advancing in a new direction.

Geolocated footage shows that Russian forces have made substantial progress in the Siversk direction and have captured the village of Verkhnokamyanske.

The Russian Ministry of Defence originally claimed control over this village around a week and a half ago, but only now has it been visually confirmed. Russian forces have driven a wedge through Ukrainian defences without much resistance and are now within 3.85km of the eastern outskirts of Siversk.

This was one of the most fortified parts of the frontline and has been broken very quickly. This is a very bad sign for Ukraine as it indicates that the Russians can advance practically anywhere that they want.

The next goal for Russia here will probably be to capture the tactical heights to the north and south of Verkhnokamyanske, before linking up with assault detachments from Vyimka and attacking Siversk from the south and the east.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces have advanced northeast of Siversk and have entered the ruins of Hryhorivka.

This sector of the front has been relatively quiet for a long time, but it appears that Russia has restarted assault operations here in coordination with the attack on Verkhnokamyanske.

They advanced from forest plantation to forest plantation, reaching the outskirts of Hryhorivka and hung their flag over the easternmost ruins of a house.

One reliable Russian source reported that the entire village was seized, however this has not been confirmed.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces have broken through Ukrainian positions in and around the city of Toretsk, reaching the main industrial area.

This sector of the front in Toretsk appeared to be relatively quiet for some time following the initial Russian advances into the southern part of the city, but since then, they have made additional gains, capturing the Kulatsky microdistrict, before advancing on the Zabalka district, capturing all of it except for the westernmost streets.

This has forced a Ukrainian withdrawal from their remaining positions in the forest to the east of Toretsk, along with positions in the Nakhalivka suburb.

There was also a smaller advance in the northeast of the city, where Russian forces advanced to Myrna Street, seizing 9 blocks of residential houses.

Recent reports suggest that Russian forces have captured the village of Sofivka as the Ukrainians withdraw from their positions east of the Vovcha river.

The AFU still reportedly holds positions in the eastern part of Zoryane, but apart from that have apparently completely pulled out due to the risk of encirclement.

Russian forces have reportedly continued to exploit their breakthrough in the Siversk direction, apparently capturing the ruins of Hryhorivka and half of Serebryanka.

If true, this creates another salient to the south against the other large advance in Verkhnokamyanske. It would also mean that they advanced for 8km within a very short period of time.

While some may think that this will endanger the Ukrainian positions in the Serebryanske forest, the good thing for Ukraine is that their southern flank is protected by the Siversky Donets River and the swamps surrounding it.

However, it may mean that the Russians will restart offensive operations inside the forest with the goal of encircling the Ukrainians in their eastern trenches.

Recent reports by local Palestinian sources indicate that Israeli forces have continued to advance in Gaza city and have reached the sea, completely cutting off the northern Governorate from the rest of the strip.

They have also entered the densely populated Sheikh Radwan suburb, taking up positions in residential buildings in order to prevent movement of Hamas fighters in and out of Jabalia.

The current status of the section in the light blue is unknown, however if it has been captured by the IDF, it would put the Jabalia refugee camp under a near complete siege. In order to complete the siege, Israeli forces would need to advance along the light blue arrow as this would cut off Hamas fighters in Jabalia from their counterpart in Beit Hanoun.

Reports from Russian sources state that Russian forces have advanced in Kursk Oblast, recapturing the village of Novaya Sorochina.

To do this, they would've had to capture the forested areas in the gulleys to the west and northwest of the village, and cross the railway line, which the Ukrainians are likely heavily entrenched in.

If these reports are true, then not only was this done, but the Russians also managed to cross the Malaya Locknya river and capture Novaya Sorochina, establishing a bridgehead on the eastern bank of the river.

A large fire broke out in Adygea after a Ukrainian drone struck the "Khanskaya" military airfield overnight. A fuel and lubricant storage facility was reportedly destroyed.

Israeli forces conducted another raid on the Palestinian controlled parts of the West Bank today, this time targeting the Al-Far’a refugee camp, which is situated northeast of Nablus.

An Israeli reconnaissance drone was sent out to scout the area for targets. Palestinian fighters fired bullets at the drone, but did not shoot it down. 2 hours later, significant Israeli military reinforcements were seen moving towards the Al-Far’a camp. Violent clashes broke out shortly after Israeli forces entered the town.

An explosive device was detonated against the IDF, while machine gun fire was reported. Another explosive device was detonated against Israeli armoured vehicles 2 hours later reportedly injuring multiple Israeli soldiers, and damaging a vehicle.

A third explosive device was detonated half an hour later, setting fire to a military jeep. More machine gun fire was reported as the Israelis encountered fierce resistance, forcing them to bring in more reinforcements. After 8 hours of clashes, Israeli forces withdrew to their checkpoints and positions south of the camp.
