Meanwhile Hezbollah has been striking Israeli troop concentration points with artillery and rockets over and over again for the past 5 hours.

Russia has been increasingly targeting the cities of Kramatorsk and Slovyansk in Donetsk Oblast with missiles and KABs, ever since their KABs were fitted with a new modification which allows them to fly for longer distances (at least 82km).
Today the industrial zone of Kramatorsk was struck by three Russian KAB glide bombs, resulting in a fire breaking out. The industrial zone of Kramatorsk has been the most frequent target for Russia lately. Missiles have also hit it in recent days, possibly targeting Ukrainian rear troop concentrations.
What was reportedly a command and control centre in the city of Dopropillya was also struck multiple times over the past few weeks by Russian missiles.

Israeli aircraft are reportedly bombing the coastal areas of the Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone in Gaza once again. A reminder that Israel has promised not to target this area of Gaza as it is a “safe zone for civilians.” I will update if any casualties are…

Hezbollah struck an Israeli military base with a drone in Binyamnina (south of Haifa) around an hour ago. Israeli media reports that 3 soldiers were killed and 60 others wounded in the “mass casualty event”.
Based on eyewitness reports, the drone likely fired a munition before loitering into its target, significantly increasing the casualties.

Slow news day for Ukraine again. I'll make some maps for the few reported changes later today. I hope you all don't mind the middle east coverage while we wait for news from Ukraine.

A second massacre has been committed in Gaza today, after Israeli airstrikes targeted the Al-Aqsa hospital in Deir al-balah, central Gaza. The airstrikes targeted tents sheltering displaced people. A large fire broke out as a result, with over 30 tents now swallowed by flames. The fire is also spreading to the hospital itself.
This is the 4th time this month that the Al-Aqsa hospital has been targeted.

I've been struggling to sleep lately and I'm low on motivation, so I think I'm going to take a few days off. I want to make quality news updates, and I think the best way to do that is to take some time off first.
It takes a lot of work to do this, and I've also been working on a side project (which I will talk about when it's ready), so I honestly think that I'm just burned out at this point.
My map will still get updated daily though, just without posts accompanying it, so you can check that if you're interested (link in my pinned tweet).
Thank you all for understanding and apologies for the inconvenience.

I am back from my break. There is a lot of news to cover that I have missed, so I am going to make two threads on twitter: one for The Middle East, and the other for Russia-Ukraine.
Map updates will be made separately from the news threads.
I will link the threads below this post once I start working on them, so check back to this post if you're interested.
Otherwise, normal coverage will continue once I'm all caught up.
Also thank you to those who reached out to me asking if I was alright. I am all good, I forgot to mention in my post explaining my absence that I have always struggled with sleep issues, but they had just randomly got worse. I also don't think it was connected to twitter/telegram or to me feeling the need to keep posting news.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces have captured most, if not all of Maksymilyanivka in the Kurakhove direction.
Following reports of a Russian bridgehead on the southern bank of the river in the northern part of the town, new reports came in of Russian forces advancing through the residential area westwards. The way the reports were shown could indicate that the reports of the Russian bridgehead were false and that this was one large push westwards, similar to the battles of Marinka and Heorhiivka (further east).
The Russian Ministry of Defence and other Russian sources claimed full control over Maksymilyanivka, although this has not been visually confirmed yet.
The fall of Maksymilyanivka would open up the way for direct ground assaults on the eastern outskirts of Kurakhove, which is an important Ukrainian city and logistical hub with large defensive fortifications.
However, in order to maintain large troop concentrations in Maksymilyanivka - depending on the Ukrainian presence to the south, the Russians may need to clear the treelines on the tactical heights south of the town.

Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces have advanced south of Selydove, taking up new treeline positions.
3 BMP-1's and 2 T-72 tanks advanced from positions near the railway line and laid suppressive fire on Ukrainian positions in the treelines. They then moved in a pincer movement, surrounding Ukrainian positions, before Russian infantry dismounted and cleared the positions of Ukrainian troops.
The goal of this advance was likely to seize the rest of the high ground while also protecting the eastern side of the southern flank of Selydove.

Recent reliable reports suggest that Russian forces have cut one of the last three supply lines to Selydove during assault operations along the railway line.
Originally the plan may have been to attack Ukrainian positions in the southern agricultural buildings of Selydove, however it appears that those Russian assaults failed, resulting in Plan B coming into place, that being to attack up the railway line to Vyshneve and bypass the city from the west, sort of like what happened in Bakhmut, except Bakhmut didn't have the railway line there.
Some initial reports state that Russian forces reached Vyshneve, but most sources are holding back on stating that due to a lack of reliable information coming from the field.
However, if this supply line has indeed been cut, there would only be one road left that isn't under a direct threat of being cut.

Geolocated footage indicates that over the past week, Russian forces have made significant progress south of Chasiv Yar and have entered the city from the south.
Following reports of successful Ukrainian counterattacks, the Russians regained the initiative by launching a series of offensive operations across the Siversky-Donets canal.
They were able to cross the canal via the T-0504 highway which leads to Kostyantynivka and entered the Block 9 mine. The red banner was installed over the roof of one of the buildings there.
This advance, plus reliable reports also indicate that Russian forces advanced in the forests to the south of the mine, capturing Ukrainian positions near Stupochky.
