The upcoming Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine that I have been warning about will take place tonight, but it will not involve Tu-95MS or Tu-160M strategic bombers. The threat involves primarily Iskander-M ballistic missiles and Zircon hypersonic…
Last night, another large-scale, combined Russian missile and drone attack was carried out on Ukraine.
Missiles launched:
~14 Kalibr cruise missiles launched from 2 "Varashvyanka" submarines in Novorossiysk Bay, Krasnodar Krai.
~8 Kalibr cruise missiles launched from an "Admiral Makarov" Frigate in Novorossiysk Bay, Krasnodar Krai.
~8 Kalibr cruise missiles launched from an "Admiral Essen" Frigate in Novorossiysk Bay, Krasnodar Krai.
~4 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles launched from ground-based installations north of Sevastopol, Crimea.
~9 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles launched from OTRK installations near Klintsy, Bryansk Oblast.
~4 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles launched from OTRK installations in eastern Kursk Oblast.
-----------------------
Total missiles launched:
~30 Kalibr cruise missiles
~13 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles.
~4 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles.
~47 missiles in total.
-----------------------
Ukrainian air defence work:
As of the time of writing, it appears that Ukrainian air defence was able to intercept at least 5 Kalibrs (over Kirovohrad & Vinnytsia Oblasts) and 5 Iskander-Ms (over Kyiv).
-----------------------
The main targets for this strike was Ukrainian energy infrastructure. The following was targeted:
- Dniester Pumped Storage Power Station, Chernivtsi Oblast (48.513745, 27.472620) by ~14 Kalibrs
- Ladyzhyn Thermal Power Plant, Vinnytsia Oblast (48.70478, 29.22006) by 5 Kalibrs
- CHP-6 Combined Heat and Power Plant, Kyiv Oblast (50.53188, 30.66309) by ~2 Iskander-Ms.
- CHP-5 Power & Heat and Power Plant, Kyiv Oblast (50.39403, 30.56928) by ~2 Iskander-Ms.
- Highrise residential building in the Kyivskyi District of Kharkiv City, Kharkiv Oblast by ~1 Iskander-M.
- Unknown target in southern Vinnytsia Oblast by ~6 Kalibrs.
- Unknown target near Koresten, Zhytomyr Oblast by ~4 Zircons.
- Unknown target in northern Kharkiv City by ~3 Iskander-Ms.
-----------------------
Keep in mind, the numbers of missiles launched may be slightly higher than what I've listed, as the number of missiles detected is sometimes lower than actual launches.

Situation on the Israel-Lebanon border - eastern sector - 7/3/2026:
In the east, following earlier incursions, the IDF has entrenched in a number of positions in the hills east of Kfarchouba. Armoured units also penetrated north towards the forests south of Kfarchouba and established control over some positions there too. Hezbollah is shelling this area with rockets and has attempted to strike Merkava tanks with ATGMs.
To the west, Israeli forces continue their offensive on the town of Khiyam which is their main objective at this moment. They advanced north from the "Ain Arab" Outpost which has been held since 2024, and secured the northern face of the ridgeline. From there, after heavy fighting, they entrenched in the southern outskirts of Khiam and are now fighting for the southern streets of the town. Hezbollah is shelling these positions with rockets and engaging in clashes with small arms in an attempt at repelling the Israeli attacks, while the IDF has intensified their artillery and air strikes on the town and the surrounding areas. Israeli forces also cleared some positions in the nearby plateau, further building a buffer zone around the settlement of Metula.
Further west, the IDF crossed the international border from Metula and captured the northern part of Kfar Kila, where they are now carrying out demolitions of buildings. They also penetrated into the centre of the town, and are carrying out demolitions in its eastern and western streets. Hezbollah is targeting Israeli positions in Kfar Kila and Metula with rockets.
To the south, Israeli forces continued expanding their buffer zone west of Margaliot. They advanced west from the newly captured hills east of Markaba and entrenched in the eastern part of the town. Hezbollah has been attacking Israeli Merkava tanks with ATGMs and attacking forward deployment points with rockets, while the IDF attempts to push further into the centre and southern parts of the settlement.
Further south, the IDF advanced from the Houla Highway Outpost which they have held since 2024, capturing the southeastern streets of Houla and the eastern streets of Qalaat Debba. Demolitions of buildings are ongoing in both towns. Meanwhile, Hezbollah continues to attack Margaliot and Menara with rockets, drones, and ATGMs.

Situation on the Israel-Lebanon border - central sector - 7/3/2026:
Israeli forces crossed the international border at a new point, beginning operations in the direction of Ayta Ash Shab. They advanced through the valley from Netua to the southern outskirts of Ayta Ash Shab and entrenched in a number of buildings there, where demolitions operations are now taking place. They also secured the entirety of the forests west of Ayta Ash Shab with little to no resistance.
To the northwest, the IDF advanced north from the border to Ramyeh, establishing themselves in some of the outlying buildings and surrounding forests.

While the IDF advances in the eastern and central sectors of the Israel-Lebanon border, I expect operations will soon begin along the western section of the border, especially after the 146th armoured division arrived there earlier this week.
