Geolocated footage indicates that Russian forces captured the rest of the Kanal micro-district.

Following Russian infantry gaining a foothold in the last high-rise residential quarter, Russian forces bombarded the remaining buildings with TOS-1 solntsepyok MBRLs. After this, they managed to expand that foothold into the rest of the high-rises and planted a flag in the southwestern-most building of the micro-district.

Ukrainian forces were then forced to withdraw from the remaining buildings to the fortifications along the Siversky Donets Canal. This advance also indicates that Ukrainian forces also withdrew from the fields and forested areas further south. Expect a withdrawal from the forested areas around the railway line to the north very soon.

The maximum advance of Russian forces was ~840m.

Update from Sudan - Sennar front:

It’s been about a week since my last update on the civil war in Sudan, so let’s take a look at the events that have unfolded. Following the capture of the Sennar state capital Sinjaj on June 30th, the RSF wasted no time in expanding their control beyond the city in all directions.

The first advances occurred when they crossed the Blue Nile, and captured the towns of Suki, Dinder and Dwba and its bridge. This threatened a complete encirclement of Sennar, but it appears that the weakened SAF units here managed to stabilise the frontline and possibly even conduct counterattacks. Reports indicate that the SAF managed to recapture the town of Dwba, and even forced an RSF withdrawal from Suki. Urban battles are ongoing in Dinder where the town is now reportedly contested.

However the main advance occurred in the southern direction, where the RSF faced little to no resistance from the SAF and advanced over 70km to the town of Wad en nail, capturing it, before advancing another 70km to the town of Mazmoum near the border with South Sudan.

The following is an excerpt from an article written by Sudan War Monitor: “In terms of military geography, the RSF’s advance into Sennar creates major problems for the Sudan Armed Forces. SAF can no longer resupply or reinforce the 4th Infantry Division in Damazin, the 10th Infantry Division in Abu Jubeiha, or the 18th Infantry Division in Kosti. Effectively, vast swathes of SAF-controlled territory in south-central Sudan are cut off from the country’s east and north and its de facto capital at Port Sudan.”
