Update from Sudan - Wad Madani axis:

The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) are continuing their rapid pace of advance in the Al -Jazirah state, and have reduced the distance between them and the key Rapid support forces (RSF) controlled city of Wad Madani to just 7 km.

On the eastern axis, the RSF has withdrawn over the Rahad river (which is a tributary of the Blue Nile River) after losing the battle for the Wad Al-Mahidi Bridge. This will strengthen their defences in the south, where the SAF is trying to advance between the two rivers, in the direction of the town of Al-Danagla, where the RSF is currently entrenched and preparing for defence.

Once these two axes join together, the assault on Wad Madani from the east will begin, but first they will need to capture the village of Al-Aribab, which is the last settlement between the SAF and the city.

Meanwhile on the western axis, the SAF continues to advance through the countryside and captured the village of Warraq and advanced towards the Beka bridge. The village of Beka is one of the last settlements separating the SAF from Wad Madani on the western axis. The RSF has set up positions here and is preparing to defend against the advancing SAF forces.

Don't mind Ukraine, they're just spending millions of hryvnias on city cleanup rather than fortifications as Russia approaches key cities such as Dobropilliya.

Do you all remember when they spent a ton of money on flower gardens in Pokrovsk, only for the city to be evacuated of civilians weeks later?

It seems that they have their priorities set...

A reliable source reported that Russian forces have captured the village of Neskuchne, southwest of Velyka Novosilka.

Neskuchne is/was the last village that Ukraine recaptured during their 2023 counteroffensive that Russia had yet to retake.

Germany has purchased 30 M-84A4 tanks from Croatia for Ukraine. These tanks are essentially modernised T-72s with better optics and electronics. They are also Soviet tanks meaning the AFU has more ammunition and likely more experience and trained personal for usage of these tanks, at least compared to the NATO tanks they operate.

According to reports from a Pro-SAF source, the Sudanese Armed forces have broken through in the Al Jazirah state and entered the city of Wad Madani. They also reportedly established a bridgehead on the western bank of the Blue Nile River.

In short, the battle for Wad Madani has begun, and the situation for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is dire, with the city in an operational encirclement and on the brink of being physically cut off.

The capture of Wad Madani will arguably be the biggest SAF victory in the entire war.

Keep an eye on this, the frontline might be about to go into full collapse mode to the north, unless the RSF can put up some form of significant resistance along the Blue Nile River.

The state government office of Wad Madani has been captured by the SAF.
Over the past few hours, a historic achievement has been made the Sudanese Armed Forces. They entered and will likely capture in the coming hours, the capital of the Al-Jazirah state: Wad Madani.

The situation looked incredibly dire for the SAF just six months ago. The country was split in two, but after a lightning counteroffensive near the strategic city of Sennar, and intensified airstrikes, the SAF was able to degrade the RSF's defensive capabilities to a point where they were no longer able to effectively defend key defensive nodes in the Al Jazirah and Sennar states, despite entrenched positions.

6 months ago, some were observing that the SAF could collapse in all of Sudan except for the coastal areas by the end of 2025, but the situation has completely flipped, and the SAF is pushing for a full victory in one of the bloodiest civil wars of the 21st century.
