The operation is focused on the Balata Refugee Camp in the eastern part of the city.
Last night, Israeli armoured vehicles began pouring into the camp from two different directions. They quickly moved towards the market area of the camp. Infantry then dismounted and began raiding residential buildings and evacuating the civilian population. An Israeli reconnaissance drone was seen flying through one of the alleyways of the camp, likely searching for Palestinian militants.
Reinforcements continued to be sent into the camp and were deployed throughout it, in preparation for clearing operations. Arrests were carried out shortly afterwards, with Palestinian men being taken out of their homes.
Small-scale protests were seen in one part of the camp, but interestingly no armed resistance. This could either suggest that the remaining Palestinian militants are hiding, or are trying to escape, blending in with the civilian population.

Update from Gaza: Rafah direction - Morag Axis.
After encircling the Tel al-Sultan district of Rafah City, the IDF resumed clearing operations in the city centre and have reached the Morag axis. They cleared and demolished buildings on a number of streets.
The Morag corridor is a new corridor in the making, aimed at fully isolating Rafah from the rest of the Gaza Strip. It will run from the village of Al-Buyuki to the southern end of Al-Mawasi, encompassing all of Rafah City. The IDF had not previously operated in the Morag axis.
+ ~4.39 km² in favour of the IDF.
