Saudi artillery shelling is targeting border villages under Houthi control for the second time today and the third time this week.

There have been very few videos from today's Russian Geran-2 drone attack on Ukraine. So far I have only seen one video of an impact in Slovyansk and some air defence work in Pavlohrad.

At least three explosions have been heard in Kyiv over the past few minutes. Geran-2 drones are attacking the city.

Russian Geran-2 drones also attacked Kharkiv City. Three impacts were recorded.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces continued their assault operations near the village of Stepova Novosilka and advanced in a new direction.

Russian forces began attacking down the railway line south of the village in an attempt to outflank it. They advanced along the windbreaks on either side of the tracks and captured positions on the tactical heights there. They reached a break in the windbreaks which now serves as the grey zone. The main Ukrainian presence is now held near the highway overpass.

Two unidentified missiles were recorded over Sumy Oblast. The first one disappeared, the second one is still flying.

A third missile was recorded. It could be Russian air defence trying to intercept Ukrainian aircraft which are currently over Sumy.

Ukrainian forces recently advanced in the Chasiv Yar direction and recaptured positions south of the city.

Ukrainian forces advanced west from their positions in the eastern part of the Yuzhnyyi micro-district of Chasiv Yar and pushed into the trenches near the railway depot. They were able to capture positions here, as well as positions north of the chalk quarry and on the northern bank of the Komsomolskij Lake.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian forces continued to advance and have captured the village of Kalynove.

Russian forces advanced in two main areas. In the east they pushed into western Kalynove and established a foothold in the houses there. They then pushed east and captured the rest of the village while linking up with other assault groups who attacked down the treelines to the east. Additionally, treeline positions were captured southwest of Kalynove.

In the west, Russian forces pushed up three treelines, capturing positions along them, before branching off onto perpendicular treelines, capturing positions there too.

That interception attempt I was talking about yesterday turned out to be targeting an F-16, and it was successful. The F-16 was shot down over Sumy Oblast by a Russian S-300/400 air defence missile.

At around 11:07, the F-16 dodged the missile over Sumy City. It continued its flight towards the border and launched glide-bombs at Sudzha, Kursk Oblast at around 11:24. It then returned back towards Sumy City, but a second missile was launched and hit it at around 11:38.

The pilot, 26-year-old Pavlo Ivanov, was killed.

Further information: This is only the second half of what happened. They tried to bomb Kursk two hours earlier, but Russian air defence targeted them. They were able to escape that first time, but one was shot down on its return trip from the second bombing attempt as outlined above.
