If someone really does believe in our cause, they will do the right thing once in a position of power regardless of what criticism of them has been made by us, but if they are playing games then you are guaranteed to never get anything concrete so long as you are fanatically supporting them for rhetoric and not holding their feet to the fire and judging them purely by their actions.
