Question: Why did God make the Mysteries so convoluted?
Answer: My take is this is not to do with God but to do with us.
God is a gardener and we are plants. You don't just sprinkle water on a seed and a full grown/fully formed plant pops out. There is a process, there are conditions that need to be in place (proper soil, appropriate sunlight etc.)
So, why are things convoluted?
I think there is a "game" at play. Nothing sinister. But a game between God and Man. Like a father playing with his son.
I believe the game is: God has hidden pieces of Truth within "the World" and we must find them.
Some people say: "The Truth can only be found Within". I think this statement is a blind, and incorrect.
There are Truths that can only be obtained by engaging with and studying the Macrocosm. AND there are Truths that can only be gained through the Microcosm too. It's only through a mixture of both that we can get anywhere.
And here we come to the point. It's not the "truths" we find that matter, but the activity of the search develops qualities in us that God wishes to see arise.
Perhaps these qualities that arise include a type of extension of consciousness that allows to connect and dialogue with something higher. If we draw from Steiner we can sum up these qualities as 3: Imagination, Inspiration, Intuition.
