The largest underground tunnel boring machines were designed and built in Alliance Ohio back in the 1950s by Alliance Machine and Morgan Engineering and they bored tunnels throughout the United States connecting nearly every state and Canada.
I’m fairly close to this place and it’s funny they just tore it down last month. A company named Robbins bought the designs and they still build these boring machines today. I even know people that worked there including relatives.
