Previous week, Russia hosted Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, a unique event in Russian-African relations. It took place in St. Petersburg on July 27-28 2023 🇷🇺

Alabuga Start team headed by the project leader for HR held meetings with representatives of various target countries, in particular with
Moses Kizige, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to the Russian Federation,
Evgeny Terekhin, Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia.

They discussed methods of spreading information about the programme among potential participants to let more people know about this opportunity to study and work in Russia, assisting them in obtaining passports in an expedited manner, and issuing visas to participants of the Alabuga Start programme.
Work on forum was highly productive for the team in terms of establishing partnership between African countries' representatives and Alabuga Start team.

We prepared answers to your FAQ! Part 1 😉

I went to the Russian Embassy and they refused to give me a visa without an invitation. What should I do?
You can apply for a visa ONLY after getting the invitation. While waiting, prepare a complete package of documents to apply for a visa.

When will I receive my invitation?
It takes about 3 weeks for the Ministry of Internal Affairs to issue an invitation. But we first have to verify your translated documents with the KAI KNRTU College of Technology. The sooner you prepare your documents, the earlier you can come to Russia.

What visa type should I apply for? How many entries?
You should choose a student visa. It is issued for 3 months. After coming to Russia, it is extended for 1 year with an option to get a multiple visa.

Can we take day-offs? How many days in a year?
A participant has 2-weeks vacation after every 6 months of work. Sick leaves are possible.

▪️You can find more answers here: @Alabuga_Start_bot

FAQ! Part 2 😉

Can I get a permanent employment with Alabuga after the programme?
Yes, you can:
▪️Stay to work in SEZ "Alabuga”
▪️Enter Alabuga Polytech
▪️Return to the homeland
▪️Apply for a higer education institution in Russia (it's your responsibility)

How long does the programme last?
Trainings last for 4 years or for 2 years depending on the field you choose. In order not to interrupt the programme ahead of time, you should study and work hard - every 6 months there will be a test of knowledge gained during previous period.

The process of getting a passport takes 30-90 days, what should I do?
You must discuss the situation with your HR, they will help.

Should we already buy stuff?
If your HR informs you that your documents are accepted, you can start shopping.

How much money is spent on food per month?
About 10.000 - 12.000 rubles.

Who pays for the return ticket?
Participants pay for the return ticket themselves. You will have enough money for that considering your competetive salary.
