Spyware sold to a host of nations by the NSO group in Israel has reportedly been uncovered by a wide-media investigation including the Guardian. The hacking software Pegasus was allegedly used (designed to be used against criminals and terrorists).

The malware infects Iphones and Androids to extract data and activate microphones. Around 50,000 numbers are allegedly on the list according to rights groups including Amnesty - which includes presidents and prime ministers, as well as hundreds of business executives, religious figures and journalists.
