The tradeoff that theoretically gives these governments legitimacy is that we sacrifice some of our freedoms and money in exchange for them keeping us safe and economically stable. All over western European nations we are being told that these governments either can't or won't protect us, and our money is going to fund proxy wars in foreign countries in which we have no interest. These governments can ensure Israel's survival, but they can't ensure our survival. Why would we continue to listen to people who hate us?
