A major Scared Cat NFT holder, @kalloc, has reportedly been scammed out of 9 Scared Cat NFTs worth 18,500 TON (~$24,445) in a clever social engineering attack.

The collector had temporarily lent the NFTs to a relative. A scammer then impersonated @kalloc’s account and asked for the NFTs to be sent back. Believing the request was legitimate, the relative transferred all 9 NFTs straight to the scammer’s fake wallet.

A costly reminder: always double-check identities before transferring NFTs or crypto assets.
