His wife told officers that her husband regularly became belligerently drunk, saying incidents like the one that night were, in the words of one officer on the scene, “happening too frequently.” According to the report, his wife said she would normally lay low and wait until Peters passed out, saying she was afraid to call the police. She told police that on a recent trip to Florida, Peters had grown furious because he couldn’t find his wallet, taking her own wallet and identification and making her feel “trapped.”

Millions of red crabs swarm Australian roads and bridges

Some 50mn red crabs descended on Australia’s Christmas Island as part of their yearly migration towards the ocean, shutting down roads and bridges in the process.

The cannibalistic crabs start their journey on the tiny island in north-western Australia at the same time - leaving from the forest after rainfall in October-November and marching towards the ocean to mate and spawn.

Booze cruise? Hawaii River Stinks of Alcohol - turns out to be... alcohol

Residents on the island of Oahu have alerted authorities to a river which allegedly smelled like beer and when tested turned out to be a home-brew stream of 1.2% alcoholic.

The area around the creek is home to Paradise Beverages, a well-known company that produces beers for Kohola Brewery and Aloha Beer Company.

It’s unknown if the brewer is responsible for the percentage-level in the river, however they’ve stated they’re cooperating with local health authorities to get to the bottom of the issue.

‘Significant’ snow storms may cause travel CHAOS for millions of Americans over Thanksgiving period

53 million Americans are expected to travel over the Thanksgiving holiday next week, and are being cautioned to plan ahead as massive snow is forecast to smash the Midwest and Northeast of the country. (The Independent)

The Weather Prediction Service says a “significant storm” will likely develop on Sunday in the Midwest, which could see a wintry blast for major airport hubs like Chicago and New York.

Computer models show the storm will reach Minneapolis by Sunday night, Chicago and Pittsburgh on Monday, and Boston by Tuesday.
