One of the stranger things about the surveillance people is you can have things like this, (or like the Milgram experiments, where a test subject is told to zap a guy in another room, and they do), and every normal person agrees such a thing is ghastly, but surveillance will embrace it, with some even telling you how a lot of other people think it all is great. When I was still sleeping in a bed, I would roll over in bed at 3AM, and immediately cars would drive by the front of my house, revving engines, to make sure I knew, that even as I slept somebody was on shift watching.
