App Manager v3.0.0 Release Candidate № 02

You have to restart your device and/or clear cache after updating the app if you are not updating from v3.0.0-rc01. If you have taken backups using v3.0.0-rc01, you have to take them again.

Important.

App Manager v2.5.x and earlier versions did not received any security updates for more than a year and should not be used.

For root and ADB users, this is very crucial because today crackers like to exploit any vulnerabilities they can find, even if it is an app with a small number of users such as App Manager. App Manager has a very specific set of users which might entice them to find and exploit vulnerabilities in the app.

App Manager v2.6.5 and later are still supported and patches will be released if critical vulnerabilities have been discovered. Since the release of v3.0.0 has been announced, no new features will be added to the v2.6.x version lineup.

It has also come to my attention that some app stores are distributing completely fake or modified versions of App Manager, some of which reportedly containing adware or even trojan. Please abstain from installing App Manager from these sources and use only the official sources.

Again, the official sources of the apps maintained by me are only this Telegram channel, my Github handle and F-Droid’s official repository. For your own sake, abstain from downloading the apps from any other sources as they may contain malicious code. Since most of the apps require root to function, permissions specified in the APKs themselves do not matter as Android permissions can be bypassed easily by running a privileged service under root. Also, NEVER trust the repositories located outside my GitHub handle even if they contain commits in my name, because a malicious developer can easily fake them.
