❗️American Marc Fogel, who has been detained in Russia since 2021, has been released from custody, US officials said.
The White House said in a statement from US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz that Fogel is currently leaving Russian airspace with President Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
“By tonight, Marc Fogel will be on American soil and reunited with his family and loved ones thanks to President Trump’s leadership,” Waltz said.
The statement said Trump, Witkoff and others had negotiated an exchange “that serves as a show of good faith from the Russians.”
It didn’t provide any additional details about the negotiations.

❗️A Russian SU-24MR military jet flew into Polish airspace in the Gdansk bay area of the Baltic Sea on Tuesday.
The Russian plane flew 6.5 km into Polish airspace and stayed there for little over 1 minute before changing its course, Operational command said.
The plane jet was operating a flight from Russia’s Kaliningrad exclave.

A video fragment of the dialogue was published by defrocked archdeacon Andrei Kuraev (included in the register of foreign agents in the Russian Federation) and journalist Ksenia Luchenko.
According to Kuraev, the recording was made at the end of December 2024, Luchenko claims that the recording is from today. She also specifies that priest Alexei Shlyapin from Mozhaisk addressed Kirill at the diocesan meeting of the Moscow Metropolitanate.
Shlyapin: "I do not agree with such a patriotic tendency in church relations. The duty of a priest is to lead people to the Kingdom of Heaven, and not to engage in patriotism."

⚡️I agree with the Patriarch here. Without patriotism and Russian victory the Russian Orthodox Church would be wiped out just as it is being annihilated in Zelensky's Ukraine. Therefore priests SHOULD be engaging in patriotism. Patriotism is existential to the survivability of the Russian Orthodox Church. The Orthodox faith protects Russia and Russia protects the Orthodox faith.
